Ex-Rangers ace 'set to follow' father's footsteps in next move

Former Rangers star Ianis Hagi could be set to follow in his father's footsteps with his next move.

The Romanian, 26, could be in line for a shock move to Turkey.

He's been without a club since departing Ibrox at the end of last season.

Reports have linked him with several clubs across the continent, with Legia Warsaw in Poland said to be one of the teams who have made an approach to Hagi.

According to media outlet Fanatik, the attacking midfielder could be getting closer to resolving his future.

That's because they claim he will follow in the footsteps of his legendary dad, Gheorghe, by moving to Istanbul as part of a mega-money deal.

This is where his father spent the end of his career, winning 10 trophies at Galatasaray. He also had two spells as their manager.

However, no club is named in the report, which means it's currently unknown whether Hagi Jnr will end up at Galatasaray like his old man, or if it'll be one of the four other Istanbul-based teams.

Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Basaksehir and Kasimpasa also play in the city.
