Ex-Manchester United defender to miss Burton Albion's Bolton Wanderers clash as Brewers left sweating

Burton Albion will be without the services of former Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson for the visit of Bolton Wanderers owing to concussion.

The defender was taken off towards the end of the first half for the Brewers of their 2-2 draw at home against Cambridge United.

Wanderers visit the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow evening to take on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's men, but Borthwick-Jackson will not be involved after being taken off in stoppage time over concussion and was replaced by William Kokolo.

The Brewers boss told the club website: "As he is concussed, he isn’t allowed to play again for six days.

"It’s something we could do without as we are short of defenders.”

Burton sit 13th in League One following the point over Cambridge and are without a win in their last three games.

The Brewers boss was pleased his side took the lead early on, which is something his side have not had recently as he was disappointed with the manner of the goals his side conceded in the encounter.

Hasselbaink said: "We had the chances to win it, we had one on ones, other chances and at 2-1 should have made it 3-1 and if we had done that then the game is dead.

"But we kept on giving them hope and they are a side that keeps on going. They are a very difficult side to play against. They have an honesty in their play, they have camaraderie and a playmaker.

“We had a brilliant start and were 1-0 in front which is refreshing as we haven’t had that for a while. You want to kick on from there, but they score for 1-1. How they score is bad for us as it's from a transition and we need to head the ball and not allow an overhead kick.

"We spoke about putting your body on the line to stop them scoring. If you do that and we stop them scoring, then we kick on.

“In the second half we started again really well, and it was 2-1 and then we conceded again from a second stage which is disappointing.”
