Theo Riddick is having a tough summer. First, he was unceremoniously dumped by the Detroit Lions after six seasons. After having trouble getting offers on visits with other teams, the running back finally latched on with the Denver Broncos.
Unfortunately for him, and the Broncos, Riddick will now miss 6-8 weeks after suffering a slight fracture in his shoulder in the team’s preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Reports out of Denver indicate Riddick will not be rushed back into the lineup. He will miss at least the first two weeks of the regular season.
The Lions parted ways with Riddick in favor of rookie Ty Johnson, who was one of the few bright spots in Detroit’s dismal preseason opener.
