Ex-Hibs star Jason Cummings sparks Central Coast Mariners comeback with involvement in EVERY goal

Jason Cummings played a major role as he sparked a stunning Central Coast Mariners comeback win - and sent another message to Australia boss Graham Arnold.

The World Cup finals is just weeks away and the Socceroos boss will be due to name his squad very soon. The former Hibs man impressed with a goal on his debut in the last squad meet up and he's doing his chances of a place on the plane to Qatar 2022 no harm as he netted and also contributed towards every goal in a 4-2 win over Western United.

Cummings - who also turned out for Rangers and Dundee - has been nothing short of sensational since making the move to the A-League and has quickly established himself as one of the top strikers in the league. He could join a host of SPFL stars at the World Cup with the likes of Hearts' Kye Rowles, Cammy Devlin and Nathaniel Atkinson all looking for a spot in the team while Hibs' Martin Boyle - who now faces an injury scare - a cert to be included if fit.

Speaking after the Mariners' win, Cummings said: "That is the Mariners mentality. That was us last season and in pre-season and this season.

"We started the season slow with the first two games but we showed what we are all about today. Character, resilience. We go down two-nil and come out second-half with the chest out and show everybody what we are capable of."

The Mariners play two more games before the World Cup with a home clash against Western Sydney Wanderers before a trip to Macarthur.

They currently sit on four points after three games with Melbourne City and next opponents Western Sydney Wanderers leading the way with ten points from four games.
