Ex-Giants Josh Mauro and Mario Edwards find new homes

Former New York Giants defensive end Josh Mauro has a new home, agreeing to terms with the Oakland Raiders on a one-year deal.

The 27-year old Mauro, who joined the Giants last year after four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, was originally slated to start, but saw his snap count decrease substantially as the year wore on.

In 12 games last season, Mauro recorded 28 tackles, five stuffs and one sack.

Before joining the Giants and prior to his time in Arizona, Mauro was initially signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford following the 2014 NFL Draft.

In addition to Mauro, fellow defensive end and former teammate, Mario Edwards, is also on the move, agreeing to terms with the New Orleans Saints on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old Edwards was claimed by the Giants last September after ironically being waived by the Raiders and played quite well.

In 15 games last season, Edwards recorded 14 tackles, one stuff and two sacks in a reserve role. He has 85 tackles and 7.5 sacks for his career.

Prior to his time with the Giants, Edwards spent three seasons with the Raiders after entering the league as a second-round pick in 2015.
