Ex-fugitive who provided technical know-how for drugs gang agrees to hand over £53,000

A former fugitive who provided technical know-how for a drugs gang has agreed to hand over more than £53,000 to settle a confiscation action.

Paul Scott, 49, from Rutherglen, near Glasgow, was jailed for seven years in 2019 after he was caught in Spain the previous year.

Scott was the 10th and final member dealt with by the Scottish courts.

Former accomplices, including Mark Richardson and David Sell, were jailed for a total of 87 years in 2018.

After Scott admitted being involved in serious organised crime between December 2015 and December 2016, the Crown brought proceedings against him to seize illegal profits.

The High Court heard he had benefited from crime by more than £112,000.
