Ex Fair City star Jenny Dixon reveals she 'shrieked with joy' when she found out she was pregnant with twin girls

Former Fair City star Jenny Dixon has admitted she “shrieked with joy” when she found out she was pregnant with twin girls.

The Dubliner and her Fine Gael TD husband Tom Neville are expecting their first babies together.

Jenny – who played the role of Kerri-Ann on the soap – revealed she “shrieked with joy” when she discovered she was having twin girls, admitting she has already bought dresses for them right up until Christmas.

She wrote on social media: “I shrieked with joy when I found out it was two girls. I may just or may not have all their dresses bought up to next Christmas. Any fav baby girl names?”

She then updated her followers, telling them how she was 28 weeks.

Last week, Jenny revealed she spent three days in the Rotunda Hospital for check ups.

Jenny wrote on Instagram: "Three days in @rotundahospital done.

"What a team of superstars. Monitoring, tests, checks & more checks done.. with blessings all went well and.. plan drawn up.

"Very thankful. Very grateful. Homeward bound again for me & twin bump, for the next little while.#twinpregnancy #26weeks."

Jenny also took to her stories to tell her fans about her hospital stay.

She said: "First of all a little bump update - 26 and a half weeks - twin pregnant so bump is really forming.

"I'm here in the Rotunda for three days and it's been going really good.

"Yesterday I couldn't talk because I only had two hours sleep the night before whereas I got a whopping five to six hours last night, I feel so much better.

"The team here is just amazing, the food, the catering, everything is just amazing, really comfortable room.

"I'm just feeling really good today and positive, kind of emotional as well. I think I'm due to check out today.

"A little kick just popped in there, I just felt it. I got the two steroid injections and they were fine, they were manageable.

"So for those of you asking, I over-anticipated it, they were actually fine, a little bit stingy but OK."

She later added: "You get the steroid injections generally to boost the lung development which is one of the latter parts of development especially twins are delivered early so they need that.

"It's very very common and it all went fine."

The rest of her tests went smoothly as well.

Jenny said: "I also had the gestational diabetes test as well and thankfully I passed that.

"I know people do get that in pregnancy, it's a temporary form of diabetes and generally goes away after pregnancy.

"I passed that glucose test so I celebrated and had a bag of Malteasers.

"And then just the babies being monitored.

"Other than that, the twins are dancing around, quite active but doing good.

"Finally I'm back feeling good. I'm back to feeling really happy and content and thankful."
