Ex-employee reveals the best way to get cheap trainers from JD Sports

By Jada Jones

When it comes to the craze of shopping and sales it's hard to know what the best approach is.

That's why over we've been asking ex-employees of the most popular shops on the high street what the best etiquette is.

It's important to remember to be kind to retail workers, especially during the busy season and this can make a huge difference to your entire experience.

We spoke to an ex-JD Sports employee and this is what they said was the best practice for sale season. You can spot the items in the JD sale here.

1. Make sure you pay attention to price tags

During sales, prices change constantly and with some staff only working certain evenings or weekends they might not be aware of the current price.

Not only that, but sometimes items are incorrectly marked as a different price than shows up at the till.

If you flag this, most times the manager can change the price of the item to match the price on the tag.

So pay close attention as you could find yourself saving quite a lot of money.

2. If something is dirty or damaged, make it known

When shops have changing rooms it's almost inevitable that the clothes will get the odd foundation stain or lipstick on the inside.

If your item looks dirty or there's a small fault it's worth flagging it and asking for a reduction in price.

When you do this you will get a discount but you won't be able to bring it back for a refund at a later date, so make sure it's something that you really do want.

3. Be patient

The staff are working hard to get through the day, often without being able to sit down and for minimum wage.

If you're in a queue and see a till seemingly become free, wait for the sales assistant to call you forward as they may need a second to collect themselves, drink some water or even go to the toilet.

It's really annoying to be trapped at a till by impatient customers when you're desperate to pop the toilet or your break was due five minutes ago.

Ultimately the best practice for shopping is to remember that the staff around you are people and to treat them with respect.
