Former Emmerdale star Jason Merrells has confessed he feels like ‘s**t’ after failing to land acting work for a year.
Jason, 52, played Home Farm owner Declan Macey in Emmerdale. Jason appeared from 2010 until his departure in 2015.
The star has taken to Twitter to tell fans he’s struggled to land parts in recent times.

Jason said: "Staring at phone that won’t ring. Waiting on a job. 25-plus years doing this and it don’t get easier.
“I know there are worse jobs, I’ve done some, but being 50 odd and still playing 'ooh pick me, pick me!' 4 or 5 times a year, (at least!) is s**t."

Away from Emmerdale, you might recognise Jason from parts in Casualty, Cutting It and Waterloo Road.
Earlier this year, Jason was seen as part of a star-studded cast in six-part drama Finding Alice alongside Keeley Hawes and Joanna Lumley.
Jason took on the role of Keeley's late husband Harry, whose cause of death and secret criminal past haunted her.
