Ex-Coronation Street actress Katie McGlynn frolicks on Mexico beach after split

Former Corrie actress Katie McGlynn swaps the rainy cobbles of Weatherfield for sand and sunshine in Mexico.

The 26-year-old, who played Sinead Tinker in the soap, is long overdue some fun.

After being joined on the beach by a male pal, she posted on Instagram : “gays before baes” – no doubt a thinly-veiled reference to her recent split from boyfriend Benji Roberts.

Katie – who is up for a National Television Award for acting out her Corrie character’s death from cervical cancer – looked fit and well as she frolicked on the beach, weeks after having to pull out of a panto due to a mystery illness.

Katie was starring as Tinkerbell in Peter Pan in Northwich in her first job since leaving Corrie which she admitted was a bit of 'light relief.

But she fell unwell on December 28th and told fans how she had woken up in A&E in her green Tinkerbell outfit.

Now back to good health, Katie is heading to LA for 'pilot season' as she attempts to make it in Hollywood.

Recently Katie told The Daily Star : "It's going to be an exciting year. I've already had so many wonderful auditions.

"One was for a big Netflix show, which would be an amazing opportunity. But I can't say too much more.

"I'm also going to LA. I've never been before, but I can do a really good American accent."

She added if it works out it'd be a dream come true, and advised fans they should "always grab" any opportunity that comes along.

"And if doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out," the star continued.

Katie also revealed she'd love to do comedy and a sitcom would be perfect as she described herself as having a dry sense of humour.

Good luck Katie!
