A missing ex-detective who was believed to have travelled to the Scottish Highlands has been traced.
Elizabeth Howe, 43, had been missing since Christmas Eve but her car was spotted in the Glencoe area on New Year’s day, where she may have been travelling with her boyfriend.
Friends shared concerns on social media that Elizabeth had recently cut contact with them and taken a “new direction”, saying she had recently become involved with a church.
The former police officer, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, was last seen near Manchester Royal Infirmary on Tuesday, December 24.
A Police spokesperson said: "A missing woman from Stockport has been found safe and well."
