Ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton hits out at Scott Brown's SFA ban following Rangers win

Chris Sutton says punishing Scott Brown for 'celebrating' is a new low for the SFA.

Brown faces a ban after he was Rangers and Celtic charged by SFA as Steven Gerrard and Scott Brown face bans for his actions in front of Rangers fans after Celtic's 2-1 victory .

The Hoops skipper was also involved in an angry exchange with Andy Halliday in what was a heated Old Firm derby at the weekend.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard also faces a one-match ban for comments made to referee Bobby Madden after the match.

Both clubs were charged for failing to control their players and staff after the full-time whistle.

But former Celtic striker Sutton has hit out at the SFA for the decision against Brown.

He said: "Scott Brown charged with celebrating...a new low for the SFA."

Rangers winger Ryan Kent has also been offered a two-match ban for lashing out at Brown towards the end of Celtic's last-gasp victory.

The Ibrox club have appealed and the on-loan Liverpool winger's fate will be decided at a Hampden hearing later today.
