Ex-Celtic star names three players who are 'vital' in dressing room

Former Celtic defender Greg Taylor has named three players who are key figures in the dressing room.

The left-back departed Parkhead at the end of his contract last summer with playing time ata risk due to the incoming Kieran Tierney, Marcelo Saracchi then brought in to compete with the returning hero.

Taylor signed for PAOK and has enjoyed his first season out in Greece.

Despite some change, many of his former teammates remain and he was delighted to see Liam Scales, Luke McCowan and James Forrest extend their stays at the club.

The Scotland international says the trip are vital behind the scenes.

He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: “You’ve seen the three new contracts they got announced and it was James, Luke and Liam Scales. I think all were brilliant decisions.

"Brilliant players on the pitch, but vital in the changing room, vital on the training ground, driving standards, almost just being that backing voice to Callum.

"I think them three guys in particular, it was easy decisions and I think it made sense.”

Opening up on his own experiences in Greece, he added: “It’s been a time of settling in, a whole different change for me, the first time I’ve moved away from home, so I’m excited to go back for pre-season and give it my best crack and see where next season takes me.”
