Ex-Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom's emotional reaction after winning the Greek Cup for PAOK

Arsenal academy graduate Chuba Akpom cried tears of relief and joy in his post-match interview after scoring the winning goal in the Greek Cup for PAOK.

The Canning Town-born forward had to produce a spectacular bicycle kick to settle the game and was the only goalscorer as the Thessaloniki-based club beat AEK Athens to the trophy.

He initially struggled to compse himself to speak in he aftermath of the result as a camera crew and translator tried to ask him about the game.

Akpom eventually settled down enough to answer their questions and explained that he had flet overcome with emotion due to how much the moment meant for him as he proved himself the hero on the pitch.

"It's been a difficult season for me," he said. "I didn't play in the beginning of the season. I thought things were going bad.

"To end a match like this, to score the goal in the final, I just feel so happy. I don't know what to say now. It's a very special moment for me.

"The ball came behind him. I had to improvise. The bicycle kick was like something I'd do on FIFA, you know. It was nice."

In his goal celebration, he made a heart gesture to the stands. Akpom was asked what it meant in his post-match interview.

"My girlfriend is here," he said. "I'm devoted to my family. No matter how things are going, good or bad, my family support me, and to the fans as well."
