Ex-Andhra Pradesh MP's son held in drugs case in Bengaluru

TIRUPATI: D K Srinivas, son of former TTD chairman D K Adikesavulu Naidu, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Adikesavulu Naidu, a liquor baron, also served as Chittoor MP.

The arrest of Srinivas has sent shock waves in political and Tollywood circles in AP and Telangana.

Actor from Karnataka also taken into custody

According to sources, the Narcotics Control Bureau, which was investigating a drugs peddling racket involving high profile groups, took Srinivas into custody for interrogation. He was then taken to his Bengaluru residence, where the NCB team reportedly stumbled upon a small quantity of drugs. It is now investigating Srinivas' links with drug cases in AP and Telangana.

A film actor from Karnataka was also taken into custody along with Srinivas. They have been taken to NCB regional office at Yelahanka in Bengaluru for further questioning.

This is not the first time that a person from the DK family was arrested in a drugs case.

On September 28, 2017, Srinivas' son Geetha Vishnu was booked by the police for allegedly ramming his vehicle into a car and injuring six people under the influence of marijuana.

Police also recovered 110 grams of marijuana from his car.
