Ex-Accies star snapped up by Airdrie

Airdrie have agreed terms with former Hamilton and East Fife player Craig Watson on a one-year deal.

Watson, who can play in defence or midfield, was at Accies for seven years before moving to Bayview in 2017.

He will link up with former East Fife teammate Scott Agnew, who is player/assistant manager at the Penny Cars Stadium.

Manager Ian Murray says he has been a long-time admirer of Watson, who played 110 times in for years at East Fife.

Murray told the club's website: "We’re pleased to get Craig, who has always been a stand-out whenever he’s played against us.

"He’s a versatile player, so we’re looking forward to discussions about where he wants to play and where we think is best to play him.

"We had good dialogue this morning. I enjoyed meeting him and getting it over the line and we look forward to working with him.”
