The father of a three-month-old girl who died with bleeding on the brain and 53 rib fractures has been found guilty of her manslaughter and jailed for 13 years.
Ivi Miley died from the shocking injuries in hospital, with medical experts determining the tot had been subject to a catalogue of horrendous injuries over the course of her short life.
Anthony Miley, 33, was jailed after a trial at Chester Crown Court where he was unable to explain the shocking injuries, which led to the baby’s death on 23 July 2020.
Ivi's mother Stephanie Shore, 33, was found not guilty of murder and allowing Ivi's death.
The court heard how Ivi had woken up at around 3.20am on July 22 when Miley went downstairs with the baby to feed her.

Miley claimed he fell asleep for an unknown amount of time before waking up and trying to feed the tot. However, after two or three mouthfuls of her milk, Ivi turned ‘floppy’ so he went to get help from his partner, he claimed.
Shore said she had heard Ivi cry, but not in a way that caused her any concern, so she went back to sleep.
Shortly before 5am, whe Miley woke her to tell her something was wrong with Ivi, she found her daughter unresponsive and scrambled to dial 999.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the paramedics deemed Ivi’s condition so serious so she was immediately taken to Macclesfield General Hospital.
The little girl was transferred to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and placed in intensive care after it was revealed that the baby sustained bleeding on both sides of the brain.
Further tests revealed a fracture to the back of the head, with a serious injury to the brain.
X-rays also discovered old and new fractures to the ribs on both sides of her body, the court heard.
Despite the best efforts of medics, Ivi died of her injuries the following day.

Neither parent could explain how Ivi sustained her catastrophic injuries and both were arrested and charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.
Miley, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, was found guilty of the manslaughter of Ivi Miley following a three-week trial and jailed for 13 years.
Evidence from medical experts showed Ivi had sustained the rib fractures across four separate time frames, while the three closely positioned skull fractures had been caused less than two days before her death.
After sentencing, Detective Inspector Kate Tomlinson noted Miley’s lack of remorse and continued denial of knowledge as to how Ivi sustained her injuries, was “totally unforgivable”.
“This is a tragic case involving a defenceless baby who had been subject to a catalogue of horrendous injuries in her short life which must have been lived predominantly in pain,” she said.
“This case has been a particularly difficult one for all involved and I would like to thank the officers who assisted in this case and for helping to provide justice to little Ivi.”
