Everything Keylor Navas said as he breaks silence on Nottingham Forest move

Keylor Navas was Nottingham Forest's most high profile signing this season after joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season.

The Costa Rica international was the Reds' third deadline day transfer, with Steve Cooper keen to reinforce his goalkeeping department following the injury to Dean Henderson. Alongside Navas, Forest recruited Gustavo Scarpa, Danilo, Chris Wood, Felipe, and Jonjo Shelvey in the transfer window before Andre Ayew arrived on a free transfer.

Navas will add further experience to Cooper's side, having also played for the likes of Real Madrid, where he made over 100 league appearances and won three Champions League titles.

Here is what Navas told Forest TV on his move...

On the move

"I feel very happy to be given this opportunity. It really is a big opportunity to come to Nottingham and I know I'm going to enjoy it. It's a club with a good plan underway, with some great players here already.

"They are in the Premier League which is an important challenge to me. There's a great support behind the team and I think this is the ideal place for me to be living these moments right now."

Still hungry and passionate to win titles?

"Of course, I am very thankful to God for the career that I've had so far, but you could say that what has gone before is all in the past now. But I want to continue achieving big things in my career and by taking this great opportunity of a move to play in the Premier League."

Playing in the Premier League

"Yes, I've seen the Premier League many times on television and I've had the opportunity to play against Premier League sides in the Champions League. The atmosphere here is really good and the standard of football is really at top level, so I think it's a really big opportunity for me."

Support from the Reds fans and the City Ground

"It's an emotional time for me as I've seen some of the matches on television and in the short time I've been over here, everyone who I've talked with tells me about the fans, and how they support the team throughout the match, singing. I can't wait to experience it for myself."

Always wanted to be a footballer?

"Yes, I always dreamed of becoming a footballer and it was a really heartfelt ambition for me. It is thanks to God that that dream has come true for me, and that is why I always try to enjoy it to the maximum."

First footballing memory

"From when I was really young, I always remember playing and holding those dreams of playing in big stadiums like this one and in the big leagues like this one, and now that is my reality."

Club or player he was inspired by when young

"Yes, like so many youngsters, I dreamed of progressing to get to play for big teams and enjoy football at that level and today I would say that the dream has come true which has filled me with so much joy."

Excited to meet teammates and hit the ground running?

"Yes, of course, I am really looking forward to meeting them all, to train together, to get to know the head coach and all his technical staff. I'm 100% ready to get started."

Personal ambitions at Forest?

"My ambition is always to win matches and I hold that hope of winning every game. Always give 100% effort is also important, that's what I love most about the game, getting out there on the pitch, giving it everything I can to help my teammates and the club.

"I hope we can enjoy some great times together and celebrate those really important wins together, and ensure we continue to be in the Premier League next season."

Message for the fans?

"For me that's a wonderful thing, being here and I'm sure we're all going to make the most of it. I hope I can gift the fans some great moments so we can celebrate those happy times together and hopefully we can go on and achieve our goals together."
