Everyone saying the same thing as Ireland bow out of Euro 2020 on penalties

Ireland truly has it in for 2020 after the football team cruelly lost on penalties to Slovakia.

This year and Covid-19 has brought many unforeseen challenges and tragedies for the nation and the wider world.

But those hoping for a moral boost from the Boys in Green tonight were left heartbroken as they lost 4-2 on spot kicks to bow out of Euro 2020.

Behind closed doors and an Ireland team that were on the front foot for much of the match, it was a strange scenario.

And it is easy to forget at times just how much was on the line as to Ireland's credit they seemed to cope well under pressure in Bratislava.

Darren Randolph again had to be at his best for Ireland to deny the home side on a number of occassions.

But the best chances of the match in regular time fell to the feet of Conor Hourihane and Alan Browne after a silky Irish moves.

Alas it wasn't to be though, and Irish supporters were left bemoaning another thing had to moan about:
