And with a nickname like that, you’re going to be a headline-maker, especially in New York City with their tabloids and punny back pages.
So, sure enough, when the pick dropped, everyone made the same dad joke: Some variation of “BIG APPLE SAUCE” or “APPLE SAUCE.”
Is it obvious? Yes. Yes it is. I don’t think the tabloids will go that route given that it’s almost too on the nose, but I could be wrong.
