Every area of the Liverpool City Region sees a further drop in Covid infections

All areas of the Liverpool City Region have seen a further drop in Covid infections.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, the biggest weekly percentage change figure fall in the Liverpool City Region was recorded in Knowsley.

Knowsley had 315 infections in the seven days ending February 28 - that's 192 fewer positive tests than the previous week.

This meant Knowsley's week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 38%.

The other falls in the LCR areas were: 13% in Liverpool; 20% in Halton; 17% in St Helens; 33% in Sefton; and 5% in Wirral.

The LCR as a whole saw its week-on-week percentage change figure fall by 18%.

Cheshire West and Chester, Warrington and West Lancashire all reccorded drops in positive Covid tests in the week ending February 28. In England, there was a 27% fall in positive tests.

Liverpool

Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,300 cases in the week ending February 28, which is 187 fewer cases than the previous week.

This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fall by 13%.

The latest infection rate was 259.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Wirral

Wirral's positive tests came to 920 cases in the week ending February 28, which is 43 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decrease by 5%.

The latest infection rate was 283.7 cases per 100,000 people.

Halton

There were 338 positive tests over the last week - that's 83 fewer cases than in the previous week.

This means the week-on-week percentage change figure drop by 20% in Halton in the week ending February 28.

The latest infection rate is 260.5 cases per 100,000 people.

St Helens

There was a total of 398 cases in the week ending February 28, which is 83 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate in St Helens is 219.8 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure fall by 17%.

Knowsley

There was a total of 315 cases in the week ending February 28, which is 192 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 206.6 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure fall by 38%.

Sefton

Sefton had a total of 591 cases in the week ending February 28, which is a 284 fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 214.2 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases drop by 33% week on week.

Liverpool City Region

There were 3,862 positive tests over in the week ending February 28, which is 872 fewer cases than in the previous week.

This means the week-on-week percentage change drop by 18%. The latest infection rate is 226.81 cases per 100,000 people.

Warrington

There were 505 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending February 28, which is 161 fewer cases than the previous week.

The week-on-week percentage figure fall by 24%. There was an infection rate of 241.17 per 100,000 people.

West Lancs

West Lancashire recorded 272 coronavirus cases in the week ending February 28, which is 49 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

This meant there was a week-on-week percentage figure fall by 15%. The infection rate was 237.56 per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 1,023 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending February 28, which is 206 fewer cases than the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 297.54 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage drop by 17% in cases.

England

In the week ending February 28, England recorded 166,032 coronavirus cases, which is 59,720 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

There was a week-on-week percentage fall of 27% in cases in England, and there was an infection rate of 293.60 per 100,000 people.
