The lead was doubled in added-time, as van de Ven was first to Porro’s corner. Spurs defended brilliantly in the second half, limiting Everton to very few chances. Vicario was forced into a few top saves, stopping Beto and Ndiaye from getting on the scoresheet. Sarr sealed the game moments from the end, with a header from a couple of yards out. Spurs had an xG of 2.08; with Everton having 1.53xG. Everton enjoyed more shots across the game, having more in the second half alone than Spurs did all game – however Spurs made theirs count. Before kick-off, Opta had Everton as the slight favourites, giving them a 41% chance of winning.
