Everton vs Fulham LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction

Follow live coverage as Everton face Fulham today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Liverpool look to fend off competition from Arsenal, Manchester City and more.

The race for the Champions League places should also be a compelling battle, with a fifth place possible for English teams. Manchester United’s latest rebuild under Ruben Amorim sets expectations high once more after a dismal season last time out.

Meanwhile, it’s Burnley, Leeds United and Sunderland who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Everton FC 2 - 0 Fulham FC

Everton vs Fulham

17:10

Everton go four points clear of their opponents today with a tidy and controlled 2-0 victory here at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with goals from Gueye and Keane. The game as a whole was largely played in Everton’s favour, as they dominated key parts of proceedings. Fulham looked sheepish, only creating half-chances for themselves, which weren’t taken in the end. Everton had three goals disallowed throughout the course of the game, all three being chalked off for offside! There is one that they will feel especially aggrieved about, when Barry was caught offside, being pushed into a different position by Andersen, but not touching the ball before Dewsbury-Hall swept home. It didn’t matter in the end, however, as goals in the fourth minute of stoppage time from Gueye and in the 81st minute by Keane were enough to keep all three points on Merseyside. Gueye’s close-range effort made it 1-0, before Keane’s header at the front post following a corner, made it two. Everton created 1.40 xG throughout the game, whereas Fulham created a total of 0.40 xG, falling short of their opponents on that front aswell. Everton get back to winning ways, and for now, jump up a few places in the table as a result. Thank you for joining this live commentary. Goodbye!

Everton vs Fulham

17:02

FULHAM SUBS: Benjamin Lecomte, Timothy Castagne, Jorge Cuenca, Tom Cairney, Joshua King, Emile Smith Rowe, Rodrigo Muniz, Adama Traore, Samuel Chukwueze.

Everton vs Fulham

17:01

Dewsbury-Hall gets the assist after it was his corner that landed perfectly on Keane’s head, allowing the centre-back to direct the power onto the ball and into the goal.

Everton vs Fulham

17:01

Smith Rowe joins the action for the remaining few moments, and he replaces Kevin out on the left side. There probably isn’t enough time for him to make a real impact on this game.

Everton vs Fulham

17:01

FULL-TIME: EVERTON 2-0 FULHAM

Everton vs Fulham

17:01

Fulham look like a defeated team. They won last week against Wolves, but already, they are back to losing ways here, and the team as a whole needs to find a pick-me-up from somewhere; otherwise, they’re in trouble this season.

Everton vs Fulham

16:59

We’re into the final moments of this game now, and Everton is continuing to press on and hoping to rub salt into the already hurting Fulham wounds. They had a corner, but Garner’s cross was sent behind for another corner.

Everton vs Fulham

16:58

There will be SIX added minutes!

Everton vs Fulham

16:57

Dewsbury-Hall is the latest player taken off in this game, after an assist in this game for the second goal. He is replaced by O’Brien for a bit more defensive stability at the end of the game.

Everton vs Fulham

16:51

Andersen just about gets a toe on a low, searching cross to divert it behind for an Everton corner, but that was a close call! One wrong move there and the ball would’ve ended up in the back of his own net.

Everton vs Fulham

16:49

That should be game, set and match for Everton as they finally get the second goal that they were craving! Fulham haven’t been bad by any stretch, but they just haven’t been as good as Everton here.

Everton vs Fulham

16:47

Well… this is a weird one! Muniz is taken off just 17 minutes after he came on, and he is replaced by Traore in the attack. Whether that was tactical or not, that is an odd occurrence as the Brazilian heads straight down the tunnel.

Everton vs Fulham

16:46

GOOOOALLLL!!!! KEANE EXTENDS THE LEAD! Everton are now two up, and it’s nothing more than they deserve! Keane flicked a header on at the near post, and his effort looped over Leno and into the back of the net! 2-0 Everton!

Everton vs Fulham

16:43

Barry is taken off after what has been a good performance, despite no goal involvement. He has been a bright spark upfront, but his game is over, and he is replaced by Beto up top.

Everton vs Fulham

16:43

The game has flipped slightly, and now Fulham are putting on some sustained pressure on the Everton box! What an exciting final 10 minutes we have in store.

Everton vs Fulham

16:41

CHANCE! Dewsbury-Hall smashes a shot miles over the bar! It was good, patient play from Everton, before the ball got to Dewsbury-Hall on the edge of the box, but his shot was sent wildly over the bar!

Everton vs Fulham

16:41

Rohl has looked lively since coming on, and he just skipped past two Fulham defenders as he headed towards the byline, but his pass back to Grealish was poor and killed the attack.

Everton vs Fulham

16:36

Everton lead at half-time here at Hill Dickinson Stadium, thanks to a late, late goal by Gueye. Everton have shown their worth in this first half, and they are good value for their lead. They have weathered any chances that Fulham have managed to create, and they have also been dangerous going forward. The home side have had to stomach two disallowed goals already, the first coming in the 35th minute and the second in the 43rd. They pressed on and got their just reward in the sixth minute of stoppage time when Iroegbunam’s scuffed shot fell into the path of Gueye, who smashed home from close range. Everton have created 0.85 xG and have a 70.7% of taking all three points, whereas Fulham have created 0.34 xG and have only an 8.6% chance of winning. The draw is at 20.8%.

Everton vs Fulham

16:36

There are now only 20 minutes to go, and Everton will feel that they could and should be out of reach by now. It is rare that a side has three goals disallowed in one game, but despite that, Everton still lead.

Everton vs Fulham

16:36

Everton are the team that look strongest at the moment, with a lot of possession inside the Fulham half, not allowing the away side a way out of their own half!

Everton vs Fulham

16:36

Everton and David Moyes roll the dice first, with Iroegbunam coming off after assisting the only goal in this match. He is replaced by Rohl in midfield.

Everton vs Fulham

16:36

There are 25 minutes remaining in this game, and both managers are starting to decide how they want to end this game. There will be a few changes coming up.

Everton vs Fulham

16:32

Iroegbunam is booked for delaying the restart, and he becomes the second Everton player booked in this game.

Everton vs Fulham

16:32

The duel between Barry and Bassey during the course of this match has been brilliant; they have been trading metaphorical blows from minute one, and it’s continuing through every Everton attack.

Everton vs Fulham

16:30

Muniz gets a shot on target away, just moments after coming on. The shot came in from the right side of the box, but it was tame enough that Pickford could stick out a leg to save with no trouble.

Everton vs Fulham

16:24

NO GOAL AGAIN! Everton have had a THIRD goal disallowed as Dewsbury-Hall’s strike from inside the area is chalked off by the assistant referee! This one looked closer than the other two as Barry was the player flagged, but he didn’t actually touch the ball! The score remains 1-0.

Everton vs Fulham

16:24

The other change sees Chukwueze coming into the action on the wing. He replaces Wilson on the right side, after a quiet game from the Welshman.

Everton vs Fulham

16:24

Fulham make a couple of changes early in the second half. Muniz replaces Jimenez up front, with Marco Silva hoping that will install a bit more firepower into the attack.

Everton vs Fulham

16:22

When anyone involved with Everton sees the replay of that decision, they will be furious! Barry doesn’t touch the ball and is pushed into an offside position by Andersen, the player who touched the ball into Dewsbury-Hall’s path! Wow!

Everton vs Fulham

16:18

Fulham play themselves into trouble inside their own half. Leno’s pass out wide to Tete was poor and ended up going out for an Everton throw. Sloppy!

Everton vs Fulham

16:15

The referee is back out onto the pitch now, and the game has resumed. As you were!

Everton vs Fulham

16:14

Andy Madley has dashed down the tunnel to sort out a technical issue with his communication device. There was an apparent problem before the second half, but now he has decided he needs to take action. There is a break in play as this is sorted.

Everton vs Fulham

16:13

Fulham have started well in this second half, with King already putting himself about inside the box, and Wilson earning the away side a corner.

Everton vs Fulham

16:11

KICK-OFF! The game is up and running again as the referee begins the second half.

Everton vs Fulham

16:10

Fulham make a change at the break, with King replacing Lukic, who you’ll remember was lucky to still be on the pitch.

Everton vs Fulham

16:08

GOOOOOALLLL! Everton lead! It’s Gueye who has the home side ahead after a long period of pinball inside the area, with several missed or blocked shots, including a header hitting the bar from Tarkowski. The ball fell to Gueye right in front of the goal, and he made no mistake from close range. 1-0!

Everton vs Fulham

16:02

Looking to the second half, Everton will only need to play the same as they did in the first half if they want to cruise to a win here. They are now in control of the scoreline, not just in the game, and they have a lead to extend, or even protect. David Moyes will want his side to stay resolute early on to avoid any unnecessary slip-ups. Marco Silva will want his side the go straight out in the second half with a lot of intent to pin Everton back. They have had chances in this game, and they might’ve scored twice already. If they can create a couple more quality chances and take them, they are more than still in this game.

Everton vs Fulham

15:56

HALF-TIME: EVERTON 1-0 FULHAM

Everton vs Fulham

15:56

Everton are well worth their lead in this half, as they have been the far better side, never mind the two disallowed goals that they have already had.

Everton vs Fulham

15:52

Bassey was also booked for his reaction and continuation of the scuffle.

Everton vs Fulham

15:54

Iroegbunam gets the assist after his attempt at a shot ended up falling to his midfield partner inside the box.

Everton vs Fulham

15:51

Tarkowski is one of two players booked for the aftermath of that scuffle, for his angry reaction to Tete falling over.

Everton vs Fulham

15:50

There is a slight scuffle in the middle of the Fulham box, with a lot of players from both sides getting involved. It’s not clear what caused the flare-up, but Tete ended up on the ground.

Everton vs Fulham

15:46

There will be SIX added minutes!

Everton vs Fulham

15:46

There are only a couple of minutes left in this half, but the scoreline remains goalless! Can either side snatch it late on here?

Everton vs Fulham

15:44

OFFSIDE AGAIN! Everton have the ball in the net for the second time in this half, and again, the offside flag denies them. It was a smashing volley by Tarkowski deep inside the box, but the score remains 0-0.

Everton vs Fulham

15:43

Lukic brings Dewsbury-Hall down with what looked like a cynical foul, as Everton broke quickly, and he is already on a yellow! Dewsbury-Hall and the home crowd begged for another card, but it’s just a free-kick. You’d imagine that is his last warning.

Everton vs Fulham

15:41

Jimenez shoots… straight into the wall, but as the ball was only half cleared by Everton, Bassey was fouled by Garner on the left, and Fulham have another free-kick in the vicinity of Everton’s area!

Everton vs Fulham

15:40

Andy Madley gives a free-kick rather out of the blue after a long free-kick was played short. The decision is for shirt pulling, and Fulham now have a free-kick right on the edge of the Everton box!

Everton vs Fulham

15:39

Fulham have had just as many ‘chances’ to score as Everton have, despite being on the back foot! This game is so finely balanced, and it is begging for an opening goal to properly kick both of these sides into gear.

Everton vs Fulham

15:37

We are some 23 minutes into this game, and Leno has already been told by the referee (and the entire home support) to move quicker when taking his goal kicks. Surely he isn’t wasting time already?

Everton vs Fulham

15:36

Garner tests Leno well from the resulting free-kick, striking cleanly towards the top left corner, but the German goalkeeper saves well.

Everton vs Fulham

15:36

Fulham finally get forward through Berge, but the passing from the team in white was poor, and they could only muster up a scrappy shot at the end of the attack.

Everton vs Fulham

15:36

IT’S IN! Barry has the ball in the back of the net after a pass across the box by Gueye, but the offside flag was raised right away, meaning the score remains 0-0! That would have been his first goal for Everton!

Everton vs Fulham

15:35

Both sides make one change from their previous games in the Premier League, with Everton’s difference being Iroegbunam coming in for O’Brien, meaning Garner moves to right-back for this game, with Iroegbunam starting in midfield. Grealish makes his 200th appearance in the Premier League, and Tarkowski captains the home side. Barry is picked ahead of Beto up front, after poor performances by both against Sunderland. Fulham’s single change from their last game is Lukic coming in to replace King in midfield. Jimenez is preferred to Muniz up front, and Andersen captains the away side for this match.

Everton vs Fulham

15:36

CHANCE! Iwobi set the ball beautifully for Jimenez just inside the line of the box, but the Mexican’s shot was poor, and Pickford saved with ease!

Everton vs Fulham

15:35

Everton come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Sunderland, when the Toffees squandered multiple chances to assert themselves on the game. Iliman Ndiaye scored early on with a fantastic solo goal, before Granit Xhaka levelled just after half-time. The Blues are winless in their last three games, so they will want to use this game as an opportunity to get the positive feeling of this season back, but they can only do that with three points here. With this being a winnable game on paper, David Moyes will hope that his players are up for this match.

Everton vs Fulham

15:34

We’re in Liverpool for matchday 11 of the Premier League, and the game on our hands involves Everton and Fulham, in what could be a tightly contested affair. These two sides are next to each other in the table (14th and 15th), setting up what should be an even game, with both sides needing three points to avoid being sucked into the relegation battle. Head-to-head games between these two teams tend to favour Everton, with 10 wins out of the last 21 meetings. Interestingly, Fulham have failed to win in any of the last four, so they will want to use today to not only get on track in the league, but also to boost their record against Everton.

Everton vs Fulham

15:34

The atmosphere inside this ground has just cranked up a notch as they realise their side is on top! The Everton fans want a goal before half-time.

Everton vs Fulham

15:34

Muniz gets the ball smashed into his chin as he stood warming up on the touchline! Tete and Garner battled for the ball on the side of the pitch, and the Brazilian inadvertently got hit after a deflection!

Everton vs Fulham

15:34

Ndiaye takes aim from the edge of the box, with a low, and in all honesty, tame effort. Leno dived to save, before realising the shot was always going wide anyway. It’s still good stuff from the home side, however.

Everton vs Fulham

15:34

Barry has now been down for a prolonged period of time after a collision with Andersen off the ball in the centre circle!

Everton vs Fulham

15:30

Iwobi gets Fulham’s first shot on target on the board with a header towards the right-hand bottom corner. Tete sent a cross in from the right, but Iwobi’s header was saved easily by Pickford.

Everton vs Fulham

15:28

Barry is penalised for a foul on Bassey, although it appeared that Bassey committed an offence first, with an arm going back onto Barry’s neck. Free-kick to Fulham!

Everton vs Fulham

15:20

Everton remain on top in this game at the moment, with another free-kick on the left side, following a foul on Grealish by Tete. The free-kick eventually comes to nothing, but it’s positive football from the Toffees.

Everton vs Fulham

15:16

There has been a brief pause in play as Andersen receives treatment for a head injury following a collision. He is back on his feet now, thankfully.

Everton vs Fulham

15:12

Lukic is shown a yellow card early on for a silly and late foul on Dewsbury-Hall as he broke forward, and that means he will miss the next match.

Everton vs Fulham

15:09

CHANCE! Barry heads wide! A gorgeous cross came in from the right side by Ndiaye, curling towards the far post, but Barry was unable to get proper direction on his header, and he saw the ball fly wide!

Everton vs Fulham

15:09

Everton have started stronger out of the two sides, forcing Fulham to camp inside their own half as they keep getting pressed back. The away side have struggled to move the ball up the pitch so far.

Everton vs Fulham

15:05

The first real attack goes the way of Everton, as Dewsbury-Hall cut a smart pass back across the box, in the direction of Barry. The striker moved slightly too late and could only get a toe on the ball.

Everton vs Fulham

15:01

KICK-OFF! Andy Madley blows his whistle for the first time here, and the game is up and running!

Everton vs Fulham

14:47

FULHAM (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Ryan Sessegnon, Calvin Bassey, Joachim Andersen, Kenny Tete; Sander Berge, Sasa Lukic; Kevin, Alex Iwobi, Harry Wilson; Raul Jimenez.

Everton vs Fulham

14:47

EVERTON SUBS: Mark Travers, Jake O’Brien, Seamus Coleman, Adam Aznou, Dwight McNeil, Carlos Alcaraz, Merlin Rohl, Tyler Dibling, Beto.

Everton vs Fulham

14:47

EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Vitalii Mykolenko, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, James Garner; Tim Iroegbunam, Idrissa Gueye; Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye; Thierno Barry.

Everton vs Fulham

14:41

Fulham come into this game on the back of a strong 3-0 win at home to Wolves, where they pushed aside their opponents with little to no fightback. Ryan Sessegnon set the tone in the ninth minute when he opened the scoring, with Harry Wilson and an own goal from Yerson Mosquera sealing an easy win for the London side. That stopped a run of four losses in a row in the Premier League for Marco Silva’s side, and he will want his players to use that previous win to kick on and put a run of results together in a positive way. What better team to do it against than one that sits a place above them in the table?
