Everton to make Jonjoe Kenny decision as club ponder loan move for right-back

Everton could send Jonjoe Kenny on loan next season.

The Blues are due to hold talks with the young right-back this week with Marco Silva ready to discuss the prospect of Kenny leaving Goodison on a short-term deal.

Seamus Coleman is set to remain as Everton's first-choice right-back next term and Kenny could find himself on the periphery of the squad.

The 22-year-old made seven Premier League starts this season but only one in the final 11 games and the Blues could offer him the chance to play regular football elsewhere.

Everton are looking to add another young right-back this summer, as they begin to plan for life without Coleman, and so the club are open to allowing Kenny go to out on loan for a season.

"It is one conversation we will have with him, for sure, to decide the best situation with Jonjoe," Silva said, ahead of the Spurs game.

"To stay, and keep his competition with Seamus Coleman, because he is always behind him and I gave opportunities to him this season because during the week he showed me he is able to compete and to play.

"It is up to us now decide if we want another season of him and Seamus competing or if it would be better for him to play often and often to become stronger.

"It is one decision we will take next week."

Kurt Zouma was preferred at right-back for the final game of the season at Spurs on Sunday, with Coleman injured, while Kenny was named on the bench.
