Everton 'switch focus' to Mohamed Camara as fresh Idrissa Gueye PSG transfer claim made

Everton have reportedly switched sights to Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara after hitting an impasse in talks for Idrissa Gana Gueye.

The ECHO reported at the end of last month that the Blues were interested in bringing Idrissa Gueye back to Goodison Park. Midfield is an area Frank Lampard has been keen to improve this summer.

But according to a report by Mail Online, Everton have been unable to find a mutual agreement with Paris Saint-Germain and the 32-year-old and have now switched their attention to Camara.

The report goes on to claim that Camara has drawn enquiries from Leeds United and Newcastle United in recent months but Salzburg have resisted offers.

Everton have already strengthened their midfield options with the signing of Amadou Onana from Lille. The 20-year-old has made the move to Merseyside for what has officially been described as an undisclosed fee.

However, the ECHO understands that the deal between the two clubs could be in excess of £30m if certain add-ons are met in the future. The youngster has penned a five-year deal with the Goodison club.
