Everton supporters say same thing about Niels Nkounkou substitute appearance in FA Cup

Everton fans were impressed with an FA Cup cameo from rising star Niels Nkounkou.

The 20-year-old Frenchman came off the bench to help Carlo Ancelotti's men beat Rotherham United 2-1 in Saturday's third round tie at Goodison Park.

Everton needed extra-time to see off their Championship opponents but eventually went through.

Cenk Tosun opened the scoring for the home side in the first half of normal time, only for Matthew Olosunde to equalise after the break.

So, the tie went to extra-time, and Abdoulaye Doucoure put the hosts back in front three minutes into the opening period.

Nkounkou then replaced James Rodriguez a couple of minutes later.

It was his fifth senior appearance in all competitions since joining Everton from Marseille in the summer - and he provided a threat down the left-hand side following his introduction.

There were no more goals as Ancelotti's side saw the game out - but Nkounkou did enough to catch the eye of the fans watching from home.

One said on Twitter: "Nkounkou is so good."

Another tweeted: "Nkounkou just needs to play. Major threat going forward."

A third supporter suggested he was Everton's man of the match against Rotherham despite only coming on in extra-time, while someone else said: "How does he not play???"
