Everton 'set to make' Jarrad Branthwaite decision as Farhad Moshiri faces big ownership issue

Here are your Everton morning headlines for Thursday, December 8.

Everton 'set to make' Jarrad Branthwaite decision amid Jose Mourinho 'interest'

Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite is set to have his loan spell at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven terminated, according to reports.

The 20-year-old headed to the Eredivisie on a season-long loan to join up with Ruud van Nistelrooy's side. Big Everton issue that Farhad Moshiri and fan groups can agree on as ownership question remains

But, of course, they pay money and they expect to see us do well. If we don’t do well then something should be done about it and something will be done about it.”

It’s the kind of bold proclamation that lives up to the finest ideals of the Blues’ motto “Nil Satis Nisi Optimum” as students of Latin like Frank Lampard (who got an A in the subject at GCSE) will tell you means “Nothing but the best is good enough” and is typical of the ruthless streak that an owner who once told manager Johnny Carey that he was getting the sack when the pair of them rode together in a London cab. The words were uttered back in the 1960s when self-made man Moores’ fortune amassed as head of the Littlewoods business empire made him one of the richest people in Europe and helped bankroll Everton’s spending spree in the transfer market to be dubbed ‘The Mersey Millionaires.’
