Everton player ratings vs Wolves as entire team struggles in woeful defeat

Jordan Pickford 5

A decidedly mixed bag of an afternoon. Some excellent stops but, equally, more worrying lapses in concentration too. Got away with dropping a routine cross and allowing Prodence's strike to go through his legs but beaten at his near post for the third goal.

Michael Keane 6

Up against it from the set-off this afternoon. Defended solidly, as he has since the re-start.

Yerry Mina 6

Had defended solidly enough at the heart of Everton's back three until injury forced him off. Passing out from the back had needed to be better.

Lucas Digne 6

Defended well as part of a back three but gave away a penalty just before the break that Wolves converted to break the deadlock. Returned to full-back for the second-half and, typically, one of Everton's better players.

Theo Walcott 5

Taken off 10 minutes into the second-half. Apart from one first-half cross he was unable to make any notable difference on his return after injury.

Gylfi Sigurdsson 5

Ancelotti was insistent in the build-up to this that Sigurdsson has the ability to play as a defensive midfielder. Sadly, not on this evidence.

Tom Davies 5

He and Sigurdsson working hard in the heat but are not able to offer the defence adequate protection at present.

Anthony Gordon 6

Everton's most creative attacker – and by some distance. A shame many of his team-mates are struggling to get him the ball more often. He only got 10 minutes of the second-half before being withdrawn.

Leighton Baines 5

Operated at wing-back but struggled to find a foothold in the game. Replaced at the break as Everton went back to 4-4-2.

Richarlison 5

Cut an extremely frustrated figure. Was starved of service.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin 5

Had an early sight of goal but his on-target effort lacked power. Fed on scraps thereafter.

SUBS

Seamus Coleman (on for Mina 31): 5

Defended well enough when replacing Mina to help Everton to get to half-time level.

Jarrad Branthwaite (on for Baines 46) 6

A baptism of fire for the teenage defender. Gave away a free-kick and then beaten by Dendoncker to the header from the delivery – all within a minute of coming on for his Premier League debut. Settled thereafter and did well.

Bernard (on for Walcott 56) 5

Been poor since the re-start and continued that here.

Iwobi (on for Gordon 56) 5

Made no discernible impact in his time on the pitch. Far from alone in that.

Kean (on for Richarlison 62) 5

Picked up where Richarlison left off...in getting no service. Failed to make a difference.
