Everton player ratings - Richarlison and unexpected star stand out against Crystal Palace

Jordan Pickford 6 – A relatively quiet afternoon until Christian Benteke's tame effort somehow squirmed through his body and into the net. A desperately disappointing goal to concede. Managed to achieve redemption, though, with one of the saves of the season, once more from Benteke.

Seamus Coleman 6 – Forced Wilfried Zaha to switch flanks in the first-half but struggled a little in the second when the Ivorian returned. Offensively wasted a couple of crossing chances and gave the ball away in a dangerous area later on.

Yerry Mina 7 – Enjoyed a relatively calm afternoon and almost created a goal with his presence in the opposition penalty area. Growing into his role as first-choice defender.

Michael Keane 6 – Interesting battle with Christian Benteke and eventually recorded a mixed success-rate. A couple of lapses of concentration aside did not look out of place on his return to the starting line-up.

Lucas Digne 7 – Early free-kick saved by Vicente Guaita and took a clattering from James McCarthy, on his Goodison Park return, who was booked for the challenge. Good positionally and calm on the ball. Delivered an assured, mature performance.

Theo Walcott 7 – Followed up his winner at Watford with a wonderful assist for Bernard's opener. Suffered an unfortunate injury. Replaced by Djibril Sidibe.

Gylfi Sigurdsson 6 – Assertive on the ball as usual and appears to be growing into a deeper central-midfield role. Performed the basics well until he nearly scored a sublime solo goal and will be pleased, overall, with his efforts. Replaced by Mason Holgate late on.

Morgan Schneiderlin 8 – Passing range more adventurous than usual and looked to open the pitch up. Forming a partnership with Sigurdsson which is beginning to look effective in games like this. One of his best games of the campaign. More of this, please.

*Everton vs Crystal Palace as it happened plus post match reaction

Bernard 7 – Out-of-sorts initially but took his goal sublimely. A lot more difficult than it looked on the volley. Nearly created another for Dominic Calvert-Lewin too. Subbed for Tom Davies.

Richarlison 8 – A world-class goal from a world-class talent. He is Everton's best player by a country mile and continues to single-handedly drag his side towards Europe.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin 7 – Not his best game on the whole but a goalscorer finds himself in the right place at the right time. He did exactly that to seal victory. His earlier jump for the opener may well have put Tomkins off and allowed Bernard room to score. Missed a sitter at the death to add another to his tally.

SUBS:

Djibril Sidibe (on for Walcott, 25) 5 – Forgot to put two socks on and this caused a delay when being introduced for the stricken Walcott. Looked lost at times but kept an eye on Zaha.

Tom Davies (on for Bernard, 63) 6 – Knocked a simple pass out for a throw in that drew groans but ultimately helped Everton to victory.

Mason Holgate (on for Sigurdsson, 86) N/A – Came on. Everton won. Job done.
