Everton fans all say the same thing about James Rodriguez's Real Madrid claim

Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react to James Rodriguez's latest comments that have seen him rule out a back to Real Madrid to link up with ex-Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Following the departure of the Italian this summer, there have been question marks surrounding the Columbian's future, despite him only arriving at Goodison Park last summer.

However, given how big of a factor Ancelotti was in the deal which saw Everton take the talented midfielder off the hands of Real Madrid, his absence was always going to unsettle Rodriguez.

Whilst on his official Twitch channel on Friday evening, Rodriguez dampened the rumours linking him with a reunion with Ancelotti.

"Are you going back to Real Madrid? No, I don’t think so.

"That is a closed cycle which I won’t repeat," said the midfielder.

And as expected, Everton fans have taken his comments in good faith as they have expressed their desire to see him at Goodison Park this season.

Rodriguez is yet to experience the feeling of playing in front of a full Goodison Park, due to the Covid-19 restrictions that were implemented last season.

Although he has ruled out a move back to La Liga, it seems like this saga could still have a little more legs to it in the coming weeks, as Rafa Benitez fine-tunes his squad ahead of Everton's season-opener against Southampton on August 14.
