Despite speculation over his future, Frank Lampard is set to conduct his pre-match press conference as usual ahead of Everton’s FA Cup tie at Manchester United.
A 4-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton’s third consecutive loss at Goodison Park, left Blues boss Lampard answering questions about his position on Tuesday night with the result ensuring his side have just one win in their last 11 matches in all competitions.
With a daunting fixture at Old Trafford on the horizon on Friday night, there appears to be little let up for Everton but the club have told reporters that “Frank Lampard’s pre-match press conference to preview our FA Cup Third Round tie with Manchester United will take place at 1.30pm tomorrow (Thursday January 5) at Finch Farm.” Former Derby County and Chelsea boss Lampard became the Blues’ sixth managerial appointment in as many years on January 31 2022.

He avoided what would have been Everton’s first relegation in 71 years by securing their Premier League status with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace in the final home match of last season despite finishing the campaign with the joint lowest equivalent points total in the club’s history. However, the Blues’ latest defeat leaves them with 15 points from 18 Premier League games this term and currently on course for an even lower haul.
