Everton and Liverpool given pre-season clue as Premier League 2020/21 start date 'decided'

Premier League clubs have reportedly decided on when the 2020/21 season shall restart.

In Thursday's meeting all 20 clubs, including Everton and Liverpool, 'gave the green light' for the top flight's next campaign to start up in September.

According to Mirror Sport the dates agreed upon were Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th.

This would mean August is set to be without Premier League action with players to enjoy a three-week break during this time before returning for a two-week pre-season schedule.

In the video meeting it was also decided that two extra substitutes would be allowed when clubs fight it out behind closed doors potentially later this month.

This means managers can now use as many as five replacements and will be able to pick from nine substitute players.

A provisional fixture list for June and early July has also emerged, with possible schedule confirmation from the Premier League today.
