The Boston Celtics have proven to be a maddeningly unpredictable team this season when it comes to effort, cohesion and intensity, with all three up and down in terms of the dedication to detail required to win games by the team’s roster.
And exactly that problem came back to haunt the Celtics in their 130 – 126 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday, another key game botched due to poor execution early in the game, a huge lead ballooning in the first half that Boston couldn’t quite erase in what has become a far-too-common scenario. Veteran wing Evan Fournier spoke out strongly against this after the game, unafraid to rock the boat a bit in light of so much squandered potential.
“If you lose the game by 30 and the guys in front of you were just better, you can look at the game afterwards and see where you messed up and how you can do better,”
