Eurovision Song Contest 2019: The results

It was a very successful night for the Netherlands' as it was their very own Duncan Laurence who was crowned the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 .

The Dutch singer has been a consistent favourite with the bookies to be crowned champion at the 64th edition of the contest, which was held in Tel Aviv on Saturday night (May 18).

And sadly, as has become all too familiar, it wasn't the UK's night.

Represented by 21-year-old Micheal Rice with his track 'Bigger Than Us', the UK only received 16 points at trailed at the bottom of the overall leader board.

The country's last win taking place more than 20 years ago in 1997 with Love Shine a Light by Katrina and the Waves.

But as the saying goes, there's always next year. Or is there?

With the UK's planned EU departure, there may have been doubt over whether we'd be back to compete again.

Though we don't get away that easily as the truth is, Eurovision is going nowhere and you can find out why here .
