EuroMillions winner finally quits NHS job - three months after £76million scoop

A EuroMillions winner has decided to quit her hospital job after taking a celebrating a £76.3million jackpot win.

Hospital kitchen worker Trish Fairhurst, 52, initially said she enjoyed being busy and did not want to let her colleagues down.

She had vowed to keep her role after partner Andrew Clark struck a life-changing win in November, according to The Sun.

'Down-to-earth' Trish even insisted on a modest £20,000 Nissan Qashqai after he struck lucky.

But now the pair have five supercars, including a £184k Ferrari and a £70k Mercedes-AMG.

Trish said: “I’ve handed my notice in, that’s all. I’ve decided to leave of my own accord.”

Having slowly adjusted to the super-rich lifestyle, Trish decided to quit her job at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Her friends described it as a 'fair play' and 'longer than most people would have stuck it out'.

One pal said: “She was a single mum for a good while and she’s worked her socks off - so it’s no wonder she’s decided to call it a day.

“Trish and Andy have always loved their holidays and now she isn’t limited by her holiday allowance they’ll be able to go all over the place.”

Andrew, a former F1 engineer, bought the winning ticket on November 2 from Eastwood Road Post Office in Boston.

With a habit of stockpiling tickets in his van, he worked through many cold and wet winter days, unaware he had become a multi-millionaire for six weeks.

It was only when his partner's niece Louise reminded him to check his tickets, tucked in the visor of his Peugeot Expert, that he discovered his win.

The couple have also bought a new home - a detached house worth around £700,000.

Situated close to their £200,000 former home, the new four-bed property boasts an indoor pool, a gym and triple garage, all set on two acres of private grounds.

The gated property also has a sizeable workshop, which will come in handy as self-employed builder Andrew has pledged to honour jobs he quoted for before his win.

Andrew had matched five numbers in the EuroMillions draw (5, 15, 17, 37, and 44), as well as the Lucky Stars (7 and 11).

Had the life-changing sum gone unclaimed for six months, it would have gone to charity.
