Estrada Vs. Valle Clash For Undisputed Strawweight Title In Historic Women’s Boxing Bout

GLENDALE, Ariz. — On March 29, at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, Seniesa Estrada and Yokasta Valle will square off to determine who will become the first undisputed strawweight champion in the history of women’s boxing.

The bout will be the co-main event on the show that also includes the junior lightweight match between Oscar Valdez and Liam Wilson.

In March 2021, Estrada (25-0, 9 KOs) of East Los Angeles defeated Anabel Ortiz to win the WBA title. Four months later, Estrada stepped up to challenge for the WBO junior flyweight title, which he won over Tenkai Tsunami. After two successful defenses, Estrada added the WBC belt in a win over Tina Rupprecht in March. In July, she defeated Leonela Paola Yudica by unanimous decision to retain both titles.

“It’s not personal for her, but it’s personal for me for many reasons. I’m competitive. I’m hungry to become undisputed. This is the fight that I’ve been trying to make and wanting to make since I was with Golden Boy Promotions around the time they first signed me,” said Estrada, a 31-year old boxer from the United States in media reports.

In August 2019, Valle (30-2, 9 KOs) defeated Joana Pastrana to win the IBF title. Five defenses later, in September 2022, Valle, 31,  defeated Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen by unanimous decision to win the WBO title. Valle is scheduled to defend her unified titles for the fifth time.

“I just want to be a champion. I want to be undisputed. Seniesa has two titles. That’s what I’m looking for. Not her. Simply the world titles is what I’m looking for. That’s what I’ve been working towards for many years.” said Valle in media reports.

The training camp for Valle has started. “I have adapted very well to this camp. I am used to the rain in Costa Rica, so I feel good doing 10 rounds of sparring in such a short time. My team and I are creating plans A, B, C, and all the way to Z, to conquer this fight,” said Valle.

“I’m training alongside great champions and hungry prospects. I’m training like I have no other option but to win. I’m determined to show the world that dreams happen, if you work hard for them, and believe me, I’m putting in the work,” continued Valle.
