ESPN’s Todd McShay adds insight into how the Vikings could draft in 2021

After a few signings in free agency, the Vikings have some obvious needs left to address. With how little cap space the team has left, its remaining signings are most likely to be depth options.

So Minnesota may have to go through the draft in order to fill certain positions. ESPN’s Todd McShay recently added insight into what Minnesota could do in late April (H/T Michael Rand of the Star Tribune).

“I think it’s likely” the Vikings will take an offensive lineman, McShay said, “but I also think they could take an edge rusher, too.”

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise for Vikings fans. Minnesota needs a starter on the offensive line, regardless of where Ezra Cleveland plays in 2021. The Vikings could also use a starting-caliber rookie to play opposite DE Danielle Hunter.

There’s time for the Vikings to continue to make moves prior to the draft, but right now, the team’s biggest needs are pretty clear: the trenches need more talent. Let’s see what Minnesota does to change that.
