'Erratic' driver sought in murder probe, teen boy attacked and 'creepy' tunnels in salon

'Erratic' driver clue in Liverpool city centre murder probe

Detectives are keen to speak to an 'erratic' driver seen near an internet cafe where a man died.

The 18-year-old man was fatally inured on Saturday, April 16 at an internet café on London Road in Liverpool city centre. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.50pm after reports that the 18-year-old victim had been assaulted.

The victim was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead. The family are said to be devastated by their loss and are being supported by by specialist family liaison officers, Merseyside Police confirmed.

Detectives investigating the murder are keen to speak to people who were seen standing at a bus stop near the scene and people walking on London Road. They are also appealing to the driver of a vehicle which was seen being driven erratically at the time.

Balaclava thugs follow and attack boy, 16, for his electric bike

A boy was attacked and robbed by two balaclava clad thugs travelling in a red transit van.

The 16-year-old was riding his electric bike along Childwall Park Avenue in Childwall at around 7pm on Sunday, March 27. The van followed him down the road until it stopped in front of the victim.

Two men wearing balaclavas jumped out, before they assaulted the boy and stole his bike. The boy suffered injuries to his face and arm during the robbery which police have described as a "violent attack."

Salon owners find secret 'creepy' tunnel while renovating shop

A salon owner was shocked to discover a secret tunnel whilst renovating her shop.

Adele Young, 44, from Runcorn received a call from one of her employees on Thursday, April 7, telling her to come to the salon 'right away.' Once she arrived at Adele's Hair Beauty and Wellbeing on Church Street, she was "stunned" to find a secret room.

Adele told The ECHO : "I love this kind of stuff and was amazed and stunned when I saw the room. We have heard about tunnels below Runcorn but I had no idea we had something on our site."
