Eros Grezda Rangers limbo goes on as outcast winger awaits disciplinary fate

Rangers outcast Eros Grezda is turning out for the development team this afternoon, as he awaits the outcome of disciplinary proceedings over an incident last month.

The Albanian winger has been accused of spitting at Ballymena defender Andrew Burns during a Challenge Cup match last month, with Graeme Murty 's youth side winning the match 1-0.

The 24-year-old was a £2m signing from Osijek in the summer of 2018, but he hasn't featured for the Rangers first team since a 14-minute cameo against Motherwell in April.

Potential summer moves to Stade Brestois or Dijon fell through and it appears Grezda has no future at Ibrox.

Murty's development squad take on Carlisle United in a friendly at Auchenhowie on Tuesday afternoon and Grezda is in the starting XI for the match.

Fellow fringe players Greg Doherty and Matt Polster are also included from the start, along with youngster Jamie Barjonas.

It was reported this morning that the 20-year-old is close to signing a new contract with Rangers, having been loaned out to Raith Rovers last season.

Barjonas has made nine appearances for the Gers, with his debut coming against Partick Thistle in July 2017.
