Erling Haaland sends Borussia Dortmund hint amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Erling Haaland says he is looking forward to working with new Borussia Dortmund manager Marco Rose as he dropped another hint that he will remain at the club this summer.

The 20-year-old forward is one of European football’s hottest properties having averaged around a goal a game for the past two seasons.

Haaland has netted 57 goals in 59 games for Dortmund since joining them in the 2020 January transfer window from Red Bull Salzburg.

That impressive form has resulted in the forward being linked with a host of top clubs around Europe, including Liverpool.

The Norway international has also been linked with a summer switch to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Red Bull Salzburg Sporting Director Christoph Freund claimed back in November that Haaland ‘will land’ at Liverpool instead of United or even Real Madrid if he leaves Dortmund.

Speculation had grown that the forward could be Etihad-bound this summer as City look to replace Sergio Aguero.

However, Chelsea have emerged as the recent favourites for his signature with the reports earlier this week claiming that Dortmund have rejected a bid from the Stamford Bridge club.

But the Norwegian striker, who returned to pre-season training this week, appears set on another season with the German club in the Bundesliga.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, Haaland was asked about his thoughts on the new Dortmund boss Rose, to which he replied: “I talked a little bit with him.

"I know him from before because I had six months with him in Salzburg. He's a nice guy and I look forward to working with him.

"The training is so hard here, so it's exactly the same as it was in Salzburg, a lot of hard training and there is going to be a lot of running. That's what I expect the tactic to be to press a lot, run a lot and attack a lot.

"Now we have to have a good pre-season and have to get to know each other and we will see.

"We won the DFB Pokal last season which was very important for us as a club and the fans. That was important and we have to see."
