Erik ten Hag got a glimpse of what life could be like without Cristiano Ronaldo as Manchester United thrashed arch rivals Liverpool.
Ten Hag made a dream start to his first game in charge of United, as his side put four past Jurgen Klopp's side in the sweltering heat of Bangkok.
Ronaldo is absent from the tour for family reasons, but United's star player wants to leave after just one season back at Old Trafford, to a club that can offer him Champions League football.
While United insist Ronaldo is going nowhere, Ten Hag praised the speed, creativity and finishing of his attackers in his absence, although said there was still much to improve on.
Goals from Jadon Sancho, Fred, Anthony Martial and Facundo Pellistri got Dutchman ten Hag off to a winning start.
"I'm satisfied today,” said Ten Hag. “It was a team with a great spirit and we know we're just getting started. But still, I've seen some really good things - a lot of speed and creativity up front.
"We made some mistakes in the press, we conceded some chances, but we created a lot. We have to work hard to cut out the mistakes, but of course we're happy.
"I know we have good players. We've started to build a team and I'm happy with the first game. It will take a lot of time. Liverpool played three teams, they were not at their strongest so we will not overestimate this result.”

United goalkeeper David De Gea went off with an unspecified injury in the second-half, after a clash with Liverpool's new signing Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool boss Klopp said: “The result is there, we have to accept it. The goals we gave away were almost assists.
“They caused us problems, but the game came too early. United had a week longer with their core group. They did really well. We showed glimpses where we were really dangerous and we could have taken chances where it was almost freaky that we didn’t score.
“We have accept that we lost 4-0 and we have a lot to improve on. I saw a lot of good performances in moments, but no consistency. It's the start of pre-season and now we carry on.”
