Erik ten Hag axes Phil Jones from Man Utd Premier League squad as six signings included

Erik ten Hag has ruthlessly left Phil Jones out of his 25-man Manchester United squad in the biggest hint yet the centre-back has absolutely no future at Old Trafford.

Jones, 30, has already been left out of the Red Devils' Europa League squad this season alongside Brandon Williams, but Ten Hag has opted to include the 22-year-old full-back in his Premier League team.

The defender, who was handed a four-year contract in February 2019, was recently kicked out of United's Carrington training ground dressing room to make space for Ten Hag's new summer signings as it only accommodates 24 players.

Jones has been moved to the Under-23s changing room alongside Williams, Teden Mengi and Axel Tuanzebe, and has subsequently not trained with his United teammates since the players returned for pre-season on June 27.

Jones has started 16 times for the club since February 2019 and has been substituted at half-time in five of these matches.

He will now be looking for a January transfer away from United to restart his career following Ten Hag making it abundantly clear he is not in his plans for the Red Devils.
