Roberto De Zerbi has admitted his long-standing admiration for Scottish players after landing Andy Robertson as his first Tottenham signing.
The Scotland captain has joined Spurs on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool, with the deal confirmed just days before he leads his country into their final World Cup warm-up clash with Bolivia.

“Andy is someone I’ve admired for a number of years. He will bring outstanding technical qualities, experience, leadership and mentality to our team.
“He is a proven winner at the highest level over a long period and is someone who can be a big player for us, both on and off the pitch.
“I can’t wait to start working with him and seeing the positive impact he will have on everyone around him.”
Robertson is currently in the United States preparing to captain Scotland at their first World Cup in 28 years, but he still took time to send a message to Spurs supporters.
“Hi Tottenham fans, it’s me, Andy Robertson here,” he said.
“As you can see, I’m not in Glasgow, I’m in America just now preparing for the World Cup.
“But I just wanted to send you a quick message to say I cannot wait to play for you guys. I cannot wait to meet you and play in the stadium for the first time in front of you.
“I’m already looking forward to it. All the best and I’ll see you soon.”
