Women’s Euro 2025 live: England handed key advantage after thrashing Wales to reach quarter-finals

England ran riot against Wales in their final Euro 2025 group stage match to ensure the Lionesses cruised into the quarter-finals with a 6-1 win.

The holders will play Sweden in a tough quarter-final next, but have landed on the kinder side of the draw by finishing the group stage as runners-up and they will avoid playing Spain until at least the final.

England were prepared for a “derby” against the tournament debutants Wales, who are the lowest-ranked team at the Euros, but Sarina Wiegman’s produced a professional performance to ease past their opponents with all of Beth Mead, Alessia Russo, Lauren Hemp, Ella Toone, Georgia Stanway and Aggie Beever-Jones grabbing goals.

It capped an excellent recovery from the Lionesses after losing their opening game of the tournament to France, with a 4-0 win over the Netherlands and a 6-1 destruction of Wales setting up another push for the title.

“It probably was the best thing that could have happened to us as a team,” forward Mead said. “I think it motivated us. We're now in a position where we're building quite nicely and hopefully we can continue that momentum now into the quarterfinals.”

Beth Mead lauds ‘unbelievable’ Ella Toone as England progress at Euro 2025

09:30 , Jamie Braidwood

England forward Beth Mead heaped praise on “unbelievable” team-mate Ella Toone after she helped propel the defending champions into the Euro 2025 quarter-finals with a goal and two assists in their 6-1 victory over Wales in St Gallen.

“I think Tooney is really coming into her own and sometimes in, you know, situations where you feel a little bit low, it brings you to the top of your game and I have completely felt that and done that before, been in a tough place and come back and I think you can see that she’s given that kind of aura, that type of energy and she deserves everything she’s getting right now because she has worked really hard for it.”

History-maker Jess Fishlock in no rush to make decision on Wales future

09:10 , Jamie Braidwood

Wales’ most-capped player Jess Fishlock is not ready to make any decisions about her future after the major tournament debutants bowed out of Euro 2025 with a 6-1 loss to England in their final group stage encounter in St Gallen.

The 38-year-old stalwart became the first Welsh woman to score a goal at a major tournament in Wednesday night’s loss to France, and made more history in St Gallen on Sunday night with the nation’s first major-tournament assist, providing the excellent threaded pass for substitute Hannah Cain’s late consolation.

Fishlock has come full circle, having made her senior debut for Wales in host country Switzerland as a teenager in 2006 and arriving back here as her side’s all-time top goalscorer.

“I don’t know right now,” said Fishlock, asked about her future with Wales. “I think that’s a tough one. I need to take a little seat and have a little think, but no decisions are to be made.

“As of right now, I’m still a Welsh player.”

Beth Mead explains England’s ‘snapping’ celebration at Women’s Euro 2025

08:50 , Jamie Braidwood

England’s Beth Mead and Aggie Beever-Jones celebrated their goals against Wales by snapping their fingers in a show of appreciation towards those players who were left on the substitutes bench.

Mead and Beever-Jones came off the bench in the second half to score England’s fifth and sixth of the night against Wales and both celebrated by running towards the sidelines and clicking their fingers.

Afterwards Mead revealed that those left out of Sarina Wiegman’s starting line-up were “snapping” in an attempt to motivate each other before promising to celebrate that way if they came off the bench to score.

Ella Toone 'buzzing' for Alessia Russo after first goal

08:30 , Jamie Braidwood

Ella Toone said she was buzzing for Alessia Russo after the England striker got off the mark at Euro 2025 in the 6-1 win against Wales.

Russo had goals disallowed against France and Netherlands, where she set up three in the 4-0, but she scored her first of the tournament last night.

“She really deserves that. She's been really good for us and probably not got the goals that she's wanted to,” Toone said.

“Her hard work doesn't go unnoticed for us as a team. She starts to press from the from the front. She holds the play up.

“She's created so many chances for us and it was nice to finally assist her and for her to get on the scoresheet and hopefully she can continue with the goals.”

'France defeat the best thing that could have happened'

08:18 , Jamie Braidwood

England forward Beth Mead said the opening defeat to France at Euro 2025 was the best thing that could have happened to England in their title defence after recovering from that result to reach the quarter-finals.

Mead said the poor performance against France gave England motivation to improve and the Lionesses have built some momentum after going back to basics and winning impressively against the Netherlands and Wales.

“It didn’t seem it at the time, it probably was the best thing that could have happened to us as a team,” Mead said. “I think it motivated us. We had conversations, we figured things out that we maybe needed to.

“You don't win or lose a tournament in the first game, I think it's cliche to say it, but you don't, and we're now in a position where we're building quite nicely and hopefully we can continue that momentum now into the quarterfinals.”

Who and when do England play next? Route to Women’s Euro 2025 final

08:11 , Jamie Braidwood

England have successfully reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2025 after recovering from their opening defeat to France to finish as runners-up in Group D.

The Lionesses faced the danger of an early elimination after their 2-1 defeat to France but bounced back to impressively defeat the Netherlands 4-0 a few days later.

A 6-1 victory over Wales secured England’s place in the knockout stages - even if a strong France team go through as Group D winners after avoiding defeat to the Netherlands and winning 5-2.

England now know their path to the Euro 2025 final in Basel, and the Lionesses have actually landed on the opposite side of the draw as world champions Spain and cannot play the tournament favourites until the final.

Why England were right to show no mercy in ruthless destruction of Wales at Euro 2025

08:10 , Jamie Braidwood

For a Wales team who have brought so much passion, colour and pride to Euro 2025, this was no way to go home. As one, Wales stood in front of their Red Wall in St Gallen, and there is certainly no disgrace in losing to England, France and the Netherlands in what was their major tournament debut.

But England had to be ruthless, and a 6-1 win to finish the group stage sends a message. “Sweden should be scared,” said Ella Toone, and this performance showed why as Sarina Wiegman’s side returned to their destructive best with the biggest win of Euro 2025 so far.

England thrash Wales before an unspoken boost ignites Euro 2025 hopes

08:09 , Miguel Delaney

England claim the biggest win of Euro 2025 so far, at 6-1, and yet the victory that might have been most significant for them on the night was perhaps in Basel. France’s 5-2 comeback against the Netherlands ensured Sarina Wiegman’s team finished second, to go into what looks like the more forgiving side of the draw.

Sweden will, of course, offer a very tough quarter-final - especially after their own statement display against Germany - but there’s no Spain there. It’s much less open. The cheers that greeted the announcement of second place said enough.

Wiegman won’t allow any of that kind of thinking, as England more than displayed in this ruthless win over Wales.

Fishlock speaks

Sunday 13 July 2025 23:30 , Chris Wilson

Wales captain Jess Fishlock also spoke to ITV.

“It's disappointing with that scoreline and we have to just keep learning and move on now and in the next campaigns keep moving forwards and keep getting to major tournaments,” she says.

"This is the beginning of a journey for us and we have been here and played three of the best teams in the world and found how big that jump is. We have to keep investing and keep building to make sure this isn't just a one-off.

"We can still celebrate being here and what it means for this nation and then we have to keep getting better. For me, I don't know right now. I don't know.

"It is tough when you work so hard and you concede things you know are going to happen. It is hard sometimes to understand that in the game, and we have to get back to the drawing board. I am still really proud of this group,” she adds as she finishes.

Wilkinson reacts

Sunday 13 July 2025 23:20 , Chris Wilson

Wales's goal difference of minus-11 is the worst in the history of the Women's Euros group stages.

Wales boss Rhian Wilkinson says that the country have to continue to “grow and learn”.

"It is a hard one. We know this was not our game and we were outplayed and I was outcoached. It's a moment when you know you will take a lot from it. I wouldn't want to stand with any other team. There is a gap between us and the top teams, and that's my job, to try and close that gap,” she says.

"I just want to thank the support. It was a tough game to stay loud and they did. We know we have got some work to do and this is not a team that is ready for tournament football too. I have got to be sharper too.

"Grow and learn, that is what we have got to do. I am glad we got the goal and we know we will put our heads down and continue working,” she adds as she finishes.

Why were England awarded a penalty against Wales at Women’s Euro 2025?

Sunday 13 July 2025 23:00 , Chris Wilson

England were awarded a controversial penalty in their Euro 2025 match against Wales as a foul on Georgia Stanway was ruled to have taken place inside the box.

Danish referee Frida Klarlund initially awarded a free-kick when Carrie Jones was ruled to have clipped Stanway close to the 18-yard line, with the England midfielder falling outside the area.

However, after a long delay, the VAR decided that the foul on Stanway took place inside the box and referee Klarlund pointed to the spot. Stanway kept her cool to fire England in front.

Wiegman: 'We go again'

Sunday 13 July 2025 22:25 , Chris Wilson

Sarina Wiegman says that the thing that pleased her most was “that we won, that we scored 6 goals”.

“Big parts of the game we dominated. A very good game,” she says.

“Again, playing well is the most important. Who scores is not the most improtant, but it’s nice when she [Russo] gets a goal.”

She calls Sweden “a good team, very powerful, [with] speed on the counter. A hard team to beat, they’ve done really well in the group.”

“First we recover from this and then we go again against Sweden in Zurich.

“I’m very happy, as far as I know everyone came fit out of the game, now we have three days to recover,” she adds.

“When you lose the first game there’s massive urgency to win the other two. [There’s been] a lot of learning with this team, and it brought us together.”

Russo: 'It was so nice' to finally score

Sunday 13 July 2025 22:20 , Chris Wilson

Russo says it was “so nice” to finally score, adding that “as long as we're winning” everything is good.

“But as a striker it felt good to score. We love it, there's nothing like playing for your country, we want to be here right to the end.

“One game at a time, we're feeling very positive, our reaction to that [the loss to France] has been very impressive, so we want to keep that up now."

Toone & Russo react

Sunday 13 July 2025 22:15 , Chris Wilson

Ella Toone and Alessia Russo are first to react to the result, with the former saying England “were really good”.

“It's hard to play against a team in a low block, we tired them out.

“I was buzzing for Alessia, she's not been scoring as much as she wants, it's nice for her to get on the scoresheet,” she adds.

On the quarter-final, she says: “It'll be a difficult game, very good counter-attacking team, but we played really well, they should be scared.”

Group D permutations

Sunday 13 July 2025 19:40 , Chris Wilson

A reminder of the permutations now...

England will reach the quarter-finals if they beat Wales on Sunday. If England draw, they can still go through as long as the Netherlands don’t beat France. England can also lose and go through if the Netherlands also lose to France, as long as England lose by less than four goals.

Wales are not out just yet - but they need to beat England by four goals and hope the Netherlands lose to France. Wales’ goal difference after losing 3-0 and 4-1 means progress is very unlikely, however.

Where it could have got complicated is if England beat Wales and the Netherlands defeat France, leaving those three teams on six points. It would then come down to a mini-league between England, France and Netherlands.

However, by winning 4-1 against Netherlands and only losing 2-1 to France, the Lionesses would have the advantage on goal difference. As long as they beat Wales, England are guaranteed to go through.

If there was any question about how England would prepare for Sunday’s “derby” against Wales, Sarina Wiegman actually revealed it the moment the build-up started. The coach had been asked whether goal difference had been a consideration in the minutes after the 4-0 win over the Netherlands.

“No,” Wiegman responded. “We discussed how to play at our best.”

As classically simple as that sounds, and as different as this game is to the Dutch, it does illustrate the mentality running through the squad now.

'For them it is a big game but for us it is too' - Sarina Wiegman

Sunday 13 July 2025 19:15 , Jamie Braidwood

Sarina Wiegman speaking ahead of England’s game against Wales at Euro 2025.

"I hope we will see a game where we have a lot of the ball and we play very good in possession, so we don't let it become into a fighting game.

“I am not worried [it will become a fighting game]. I think Wales are very compact and they can fight and are really together but also when they have the ball they can play direct.

“We are trying to prevent that, and the best way is to be good on the ball yourself and move the ball quickly to exploit the spaces.

"For them it is a big game but for us it is too. We want to win and get through the group stage. There is passion but we have passion too. We want to be really focused and good on the ball. We have to be patient."

Rhian Wilkinson: 'Wales want to spoil the party against England'

Sunday 13 July 2025 19:00 , Jamie Braidwood

Wales head coach Rhian Wilkinson not shying away from the chance to “spoil the party” ahead of facing England at Women’s Euro 2025,

“These women have fought for so long, many of them their whole careers, to have this opportunity and I will not allow us to feel like we’re just here to just participate. So we will continue to celebrate.

“England, of course there’s a storyline. Why wouldn’t we go towards a rivalry? This will only benefit the women’s game. We’re going to give them as much as possible, push them to the very end.

“And it is the very end. We’re in an incredibly close group. England will be forced to play a strong line-up because it is such a close group and there’s also a goal differential. So for my women, we get to show up and spoil the party and that’s a wonderful job.”

‘It’s in our blood’: Wales determined to knock England out of Women’s Euro 2025

Sunday 13 July 2025 18:15 , Jamie Braidwood

Wales captain Angharad James said the motivation to beat England and knock the holders out of Euro 2025 is “in our blood and DNA” as the rivals prepare to meet in the final round of the group stage.

Wales are the lowest-ranked nation at Euro 2025 and landed in the group of death at their major tournament debut, being drawn alongside the last two champions in England and the Netherlands as well as France.

Wales are all-but eliminated after a 3-0 defeat to the Netherlands was followed by a 4-1 defeat to France but James said her team-mates are focused on delivering a performance to be proud of.

Sarina Wiegman wants England to stay calm against Wales passion

Sunday 13 July 2025 18:00 , Jamie Braidwood

Sarina Wiegman says England have to make sure their Euro 2025 derby against Wales does not become a “fighting game” and urged the Lionesses to focus on their own performance in order to reach the quarter-finals.

After beating the Netherlands 4-0 England can reach the quarter-finals with a win over rivals Wales, who are making their tournament debuts at the Euros and are the lowest-ranked side in the 16-team competition.

Wales are all-but out of the Euros and require a four-goal win in their final group game against England while also needing France to beat the Netherlands.

Lauren Hemp on what it means to be 'proper England'

Sunday 13 July 2025 17:45 , Jamie Braidwood

“I think off the back of that disappointing result, it was a bit more reinforced and sort of taking a step back and remembering why we're here and how we all got here, the journeys that we've been on, we've touched on that a lot, coming into all the prep camps, we've all spoken about our journeys and what it feels like to be here.

“Sort of us going back and remembering all that, especially after that first game, that disappointment, it's like, right, we're here to win, we want to do that and I think that just shows the mentality of the group to be able to bounce back in the way that we did .

“This England want to show and I think it's about like that fight in us.”

‘Proud’ Jess Fishlock keen to look at the positives after Wales defeat

Sunday 13 July 2025 17:30 , Jamie Braidwood

History-making Jess Fishlock will let her double achievement sink in after Wales’ Euro 2025 campaign comes to an end.

Wales are all-but eliminated from the tournament in Switzerland after a 4-1 defeat against France leaves them needing to beat England and manufacture a nine-goal swing in goal difference in their final Group D game on Sunday.

But it was a historic night for Fishlock as not only did she score her country’s first goal at a major tournament, she also became the oldest women to score at the European Championships at the age of 38 years and 176 days when she prodded home Ceri Holland’s improvised cross.

When informed of her age record, she said on ITV1: “I guess I’ll take that as a compliment. But I couldn’t get these accolades without my entire team behind me.”

Wales on the brink of Women’s Euro 2025 exit despite landmark goal

Sunday 13 July 2025 17:10 , Jamie Braidwood

Wales have been all-but eliminated from Euro 2025 after a 4-1 defeat to France in Group D.

Rhian Wilkinson’s side were put to the sword by Les Bleus in St Gallen, despite Jess Fishlock scoring her country’s first-ever goal at a major tournament.

Clara Mateo, Kadidiatou Diani, Amel Majri and Grace Geyoro bagged for France to leave Wales needing to beat England and manufacture a nine-goal swing in goal difference in Sunday’s final match.

Even if they can achieve that unlikely feat, they also need France to beat the Netherlands.

England made some key changes for the Netherlands game and looked to have found a settled formula with Lauren James on the right wing, Ella Toone in midfield and Jess Carter at centre-back. Sarina Wiegman could name an unchanged team in order to build some momentum and consistency.

England forward Aggie Beever-Jones: It’s hard to block ‘outside noise’ at Euros

Sunday 13 July 2025 16:10 , Jamie Braidwood

Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones admits it can be difficult to ignore the “outside noise” as one of England’s buzziest new faces at the Women’s European Championship.

The 21-year old memorably netted a 30-minute hat-trick on her first senior start for the Lionesses at Wembley in late May, and she was a favourite of former Blues-turned-United States boss Emma Hayes, who predicted Beever-Jones would be “a legend not just for Chelsea but for England”.

England manager Sarina Wiegman handed Beever-Jones her major tournament debut in the 84th minute of the defending champions’ 4-0 group-stage triumph over the Netherlands on Wednesday, though many had hoped she would have been introduced a game sooner, in their 2-1 defeat to France.

‘Special’ Lauren James among best players at Women’s Euro 2025, says Lucy Bronze

Sunday 13 July 2025 15:50 , Jamie Braidwood

England’s Lauren James is among the best players at Euro 2025 for creating “something special” and unlocking a game in a moment, team-mate Lucy Bronze has said.

James scored England’s opening goal in the 4-0 win over Netherlands with a powerful left-footed shot into the top corner and added a second after half-time as the Lionesses bounced back from their defeat to France.

The 23-year-old had been an injury doubt before the tournament due to a hamstring injury but was moved to the right wing against the Netherlands and sparked England’s big win with her opening goal.

How Sweden exposed Germany in the wildest 30 minutes of Euro 2025

Sunday 13 July 2025 15:30 , Jamie Braidwood

If given the choice, who out of Sweden or Germany would England prefer to play should the holders make it past Wales and into the Euro 2025 quarter-finals on Sunday night?

After a frenetic opening 10 minutes in Zurich, where Germany were able to carve Sweden apart at will, the answer appeared obvious.

A little over 20 minutes later, as Sweden counter-attacked their way to triggering a capitulation in the Germany defence, that answer had completely flipped again.

England faced deserved criticism - then they responded in the perfect way

Sunday 13 July 2025 15:10 , Jamie Braidwood

In the aftermath of England’s opening defeat to France at Euro 2025, shell-shocked players were starting to realise the scale of the criticism that could come their way if they crashed out of the tournament after just two games. The criticism England received, and a lot of it came from within as well as from outside, meant there was nowhere to hide. “We finished the game against France and we got cameras and microphones shoved in our face telling us how bad we are,” said Lucy Bronze.

This is the new world the Lionesses have created, where their achievements in winning the Euros and reaching the World Cup final have rightly resulted in greater attention, but also greater scrutiny should they fall short of those standards. Even Sarina Wiegman admitted to feeling “tense” before facing the Netherlands, where defeat would have led to elimination.

The key England switch that sparked a turning point at Women’s Euro 2025

Sunday 13 July 2025 14:50 , Miguel Delaney

This was what Georgia Stanway meant by “proper England”. This is why the squad keep saying those two words, as even Sarina Wiegman revealed after the game.

It isn’t necessarily a description, or any kind of old-fashioned appeal to the past. It’s a mantra, a standard. It’s about high intensity, not letting levels drop, and making sure the opposition feel the burn right until the very end of a game.

That was certainly true of the Netherlands, in a 4-0 defeat that might indeed prove a proper turning point in this entire Euro 2025 campaign. The defending champions have finally arrived, securing the tournament’s biggest win in any match that doesn’t feature Spain. That it was against a team as fancied as the Dutch, and with all of the storylines that were supposed to give this fixture such an edge, makes it all the more admirable.

Wales head coach wants to 'spoil the party' against England

Sunday 13 July 2025 14:30 , Jamie Braidwood

Head coach Rhian Wilkinson says Wales are out to "spoil the party" for England in their final group game at Euro 2025.

While there is still a mathematical possibility the tournament newcomers could make it through to the quarter-finals, they would need to beat defending champions England by four goals or more in St Gallen on Sunday and hope the Netherlands to lose to France.

England are guaranteed a last-eight place with victory over Wales, who on Wednesday celebrated their first ever major tournament goal when Jess Fishlock scored in the 13th minute of their 4-1 loss to France.

"We're here for the first time and we're here to make an impact and part of that is celebrating our firsts, so we got to celebrate Jess' goal twice - thanks VAR. All these moments are important to celebrate," said Wilkinson.

"And for those countries that are fortunate enough to have the size and player pool, who expect regularly to qualify for these events, they've forgotten what an achievement it is to be at the pinnacle of the game at these major events.

"These women have fought for so long, many of them their whole careers, to have this opportunity and I will not allow us to feel like we're just here to just participate. So we will continue to celebrate.

"England, of course there's a storyline. Why wouldn't we go towards a rivalry? This will only benefit the women's game. We're going to give them as much as possible, push them to the very end.

Can anyone stop Spain? Even in defeat, Italy may have found an answer

Sunday 13 July 2025 14:10 , Miguel Delaney

Spain of course claimed the win, but it was Italy who claimed the night, and the second qualification place from Group B at Euro 2025. Their 3-1 defeat to the world champions was irrelevant, because previously eliminated Belgium beat Portugal 2-1. Italy had made it by a point, and no little grit.

Hosts Switzerland reach Women’s Euro 2025 quarter-finals with last-gasp goal

Sunday 13 July 2025 13:50 , Jamie Braidwood

Switzerland's Riola Xhemaili scored a last-gasp goal to salvage a 1-1 draw with Finland that sent the joyous hosts through to the quarter-finals at Euro 2025, and sends heartbroken Finland home.

Finland looked to be heading for the knockout round after Natalia Kuikka scored from the penalty spot in the 79th minute, but the Swiss kept up the attack in the breathless dying minutes and Xhemaili scored with a tap-in in added time to blow the roof off at Stade de Geneve.

Switzerland, who needed only a draw to advance based on goal difference, finished second in Group A behind Norway after a game that for most of the night was far from a classic. It is the first time the Swiss women have advanced to a knockout round in a European championship.

Alessia Russo confident of Women’s Euro 2025 chances after England rediscover ‘DNA’

Sunday 13 July 2025 13:10 , Jamie Braidwood

Alessia Russo feels “the sky’s the limit” for England after the Lionesses rediscovered their “DNA” in an emphatic 4-0 group-stage victory over the Netherlands which kept alive their Women’s European Championship title defence.

“After the France game, we looked at ourselves a lot as individuals and how we can all be better and obviously within the team,” said player-of-the-match Russo, who contributed three assists.

“I think that going into this game we wanted to start with that, setting our own standards high on and off the ball and we definitely did that.

“I think when that’s our standard as a team.”

What do England need to qualify? Women’s Euro 2025 group permutations explained

Sunday 13 July 2025 12:50 , Jamie Braidwood

The business end of the Euro 2025 group stage has quickly rolled around with many teams already at the risk of elimination and others close to booking their place in the quarter-finals.

Holders England were one of those teams facing early jeopardy after the Lionesses fell to a 2-1 defeat to France in Group D and their clash against Netherlands on Wednesday was described as “must-win”.

The Lionesses could have become the first European champions to be eliminated from the group stage of the Women’s Euro but they instead thrashed the Netherlands to keep their title defence alive.

'It's a derby and we want to win, end of'

Sunday 13 July 2025 12:30 , Jamie Braidwood

Lauren Hemp promised “fight” and “character” from England and said the Lionesses are aware of how much this upcoming match means for Wales as they prepare for what is likely to be their final match at the Euros.

“It's gonna be a really tough match, obviously we've got so much respect for Wales,” Hemp said. “They've done really well in the competition so far, but we're very desperate to win and we know what it's going take to win. You never know what you're going to get from this team, but what you will get is a lot of fight and a lot of character.

“Wales have done so well to get here and we have got so much respect for them as an England team. We know the rivalry is huge, so we want to win as much as possible.

“It’s important that we all want to improve the women’s game as far as we can. It’s a great rivalry and these are the games you want to be involved in. We’re all very excited about it and we don’t need to explain the rivalry. It’s a derby, we want to win, end of.”

Lauren Hemp has vowed England won’t be complacent against Wales and said the Lionesses are treating the Euro 2025 clash as a “derby” as the holders look to advance to the quarter-finals.

“We definitely won't go into the game complacent,” Hemp said. “Wales have done well this tournament, they deserve to be here and we've got so much respect for them. They've got a lot of great players who I have experienced playing week in week out in the WSL, so they've got a good team.”

England thrashed the Netherlands to keep their Euro 2025 campaign alive as the holders responded to the threat of elimination with a superb performance.

The Lionesses could have become the first European champions to be eliminated from the group stage had they followed their 2-1 loss to France with another defeat

But Sarina Wiegman’s side thrived under the pressure of a knockout game, with two goals from Lauren James firing England to a huge win over a strong Dutch team.

Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone scored the other goals, which puts England in a great position to reach the quarter-finals if they beat Wales on Sunday.
