Emmerdale's latest episode teased a possible future return for Robert Sugden, following a shocking revelation by Luke Posner.
Luke confirmed to his mum Wendy on Friday that after coming out to his brother Lee, he was brutally beaten up by him with his sibling even threatening to kill him in an unprovoked attack.
But a twist came when Luke confirmed he shoved his brother to get him away from him, causing him to fall over and hit his head.
Lee lost consciousness briefly before heading off, and just hours later he was hit over the head with a shovel by convicted killer Robert.

Robert is serving a long murder charge in prison for the crime, after Lee suffered a brain bleed and died from his injuries.
He was given a harsh sentence, which was backed by Wendy at the time as she did not believe Lee had raped Robert's sister Victoria - and obviously had no idea what he'd done to Luke.
Robert has since cut off contact with ex-husband Aaron Dingle and all his family, believing he will be in prison for a long time.

Knowing what she knows now, Wendy has considered whether the new information could help Robert get a reduced sentence, or perhaps mean he wasn't even Lee's killer.
On Monday night, Wendy basically suggested son Luke could be Lee's killer after scanning the postmortem results again, and revealing how Lee had already suffered a head injury to the back of his head before meeting with Robert.
Yes, the shovel to the head would not have helped and wasn't exactly accidental, but Wendy questioned if Lee's brain was already bleeding prior to this.

If this is the case, it could mean Luke's scuffle with him led to Lee's death, and not the attack by Robert.
As Wendy asked Luke about it he completely denied killing his brother, and was furious with his mum for suggesting it.
But the plot left many viewers wondering whether Robert could make a return very soon or even in the future, whether that be in prison or in the village.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
