Emmerdale legend Dominic Brunt, who is best known for his role as Paddy Dingle on the ITV soap, has been forced to take his first ever sick day after contracting Covid-19.
The 51-year-old actor has reportedly never had a day off sick since he joined the long running soap 25 years ago.
Dominic took to social media to share the news, saying it was the first time he has missed work in "a quarter of a century".

Taking to Twitter, he penned: "After 25 years at @Emmerdale without a single day off, I have succumbed to the dreaded ‘rona’.
"I have been ridiculously careful but tomorrow will be the first time in a quarter of a century. Now THAT p**ses me off. Fortunate to have good health though and thankful. Love to all."
The star, who said he says he has been "ridiculously careful" is currently in the midst of a major storyline after Marlon Dingle suffered a devastating stroke recently.
The storyline is causing quite a stir amongst viewers as Dominic's character Paddy is currently refusing to visit his best mate Marlon in hospital as he struggles to come to terms with what has happened.
The soap’s signature vet recently spoke about his fears for the future of his character Paddy Dingle as the soap makes plans for its 50th anniversary.
Dominic first joined Emmerdale as the lovable vet back in 1997. Over the years, he’s made an army of fans from the soap’s millions of viewers but what does the future hold for Paddy?
In an interview with the Metro he said: “If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue,” Dominic said. “I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.”
