Emmerdale star confirms split for ITV soap couple amid baby bombshell

Charity Dingle and Mackenzie are set to split on Emmerdale amid Chloe's baby bombshell.

The ITV soap couple - played by Emma Atkins and Lawrence Robb - are planning to get married, but things could be rocked by the news that Chloe Harris is pregnant with Mack's baby. Whilst the news is currently under wraps, it seems like it may not be long until more people in the village - and Charity - find out about Mack's one night stand.

Mack cheated on Charity with Chloe after he and his girlfriend were told the sad news that Charity had suffered an ectopic pregnancy, but the lie has remained out of public knowledge for the time being.

Now actress Emma has revealed what's in store for her character and her relationship going forward.

Asked if Charity and Mack could stay together despite the baby bombshell, Emma told Metro.co.uk: "I shouldn’t imagine they’ll be able to stay together if and when it does come out. That’s a shame in a way as I love working with Lawrence.

"But who knows, maybe she would find it in her to forgive him. But at this point in time I can’t see that happening because Charity has put all of her trust in him. So when it does come out I think it will be such a shock."

She added: "And the word shock is probably going to be the understatement of the year."

2023 soap spoilers has revealed it could be the wedding day where everyone found out, as soap producer Jane Hudson spilled that Chloe's due date is around the same time as the wedding, and heavily teased the two plots would collide.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she told us: "We have got the Charity and Mackenzie wedding on the cards which is happening next year. I think we know weddings don't always go very smoothly.

Charity actress Emma teased there was a split ahead (ITV)

"Chloe's baby is maybe due around the time of the wedding, so I'll leave it to yourselves to figure out what might happen around the wedding date and birth date, and it will be explosive for Charity and Mackenzie."

She added: "I would say the start of 2023 is explosive for the Dingles. We have got Cain at the heart of what is happening in the village, we have got Paddy and Chas at the heart of what is happening, and we have got Charity and Mack, so the Dingles are really kicking off 2023 with a bang. It's all going on for them."

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
