Emmerdale spoilers: Matty feared dead as doctors panic after surgery goes wrong

Matty Barton is feared dead after his surgery goes horribly wrong in Thursday night's Emmerdale.

Nervous Matty is apprehensive before his big operation - and mum Moira doesn't make things better by taking over during his consultant appointment.

Desperate to guarantee her son's safety, Moira starts asking lots of questions and won't let Matty get a word in edgeways.

Furious Matty tells Moira he doesn't want her speaking for him and bans her from attending his operayion.

The day of his surgery arrives and Matty struggles to hide his nerves as he waits in the hospital ward.

Moira goes against her son's wishes and turns up at the hospital to offer her support.

When he is wheeled off, the farm owner takes her anger out on Victoria.

Moira then breaks down as she reveals the real reason behind her upset.

She confesses to Victoria that she is distressed because of Holly's death and losing Adam.

Victoria comforts Moira as the pair nervously wait for news on Matty's operation.

It doesn't look good when they spot an anxious nurse running towards the operating theatre where Matty is having his surgery.

Moira fears the worst and is convinced that her son might not make it out alive.
