Emmerdale's Will Ash filmed with harness for terrifying cliff stunt as Caleb 'dies'

Will Ash filmed the dangerous cliff stunt scenes on Emmerdale with a harness under his outfit.

In scenes airing this evening, Caleb will find himself at death's door after being pushed off a cliff by an unknown assailant. He is left for dead, suffering horrific injuries from the fall - but who pushed him and what is their motive?

Many names have been thrown into the hat on who it might be but there are four main suspects. Caleb's brother Cain is likely suspect number one, as he can't forgive him over what he did to him and Moira to get one up on Kim Tate. Will Taylor, Kim's husband, is also in the frame and he has made no qualms about his dislike for Caleb. Jilted lover Leyla as well as Mack are both also suspects.

Now actor Will Ash has opened up about the "real danger" present on the filming days.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, he said: "It was great fun; it was a lovely location. It was beautiful where we were, plugged some rocks where we did it. We had like two days so there was plenty of time to do it all.

"And the director had it all planned out brilliantly. It was fantastic fun and in terms of the danger of it."

He added: "Everyone was kind of quite worried. I had a harness on cause I was going kind of quite near to this edge and if you’d have fallen off that, you've done yourself serious damage like Caleb does."

Will admits he's not a fan of heights but he felt "very safe", as he revealed how they 'cheated' the scenes.

"I'm not great with heights, so, um, but I felt very, very safe. I was falling off a platform - we kind of cheated it - I was falling onto this kind of mattress. And I was going up a step each time while they were testing out," he said.

"And then when I had to do the top step, I was a bit scared and they went, go on, just jump. You'll be all right. You've got the others. I thought, okay, just give this a go. It was good. It’s a break from being in the studio or being in the village and it was nice weather."
