Emmerdale's Marlon Dingle devastated as he struggles to form words after stroke

Marlon Dingle is left utterly devastated as he struggles in the aftermath of his stroke.

Next week on Emmerdale, both he and partner Rhona find it difficult to navigate the world after the incident, with his best friend Paddy also clearly not coping.

As the Dingles prepare to send a video to Marlon in hospital, Paddy is worried he's being fake and ends up buckling under the pressure and recording a strange message to his pal.

But in hospital, Marlon becomes increasingly frustrated as he meets with his speech therapist.

While he desperately struggles to form easy words, Rhona is upset to see how devastated Marlon is with his slow progress.

Rhona tries to push a stubborn Marlon a little too hard and a nurse later takes her aside and gently urges her to put less pressure on him.

Paddy later notices that Rhona is clearly feeling low and promises that he will do better, but is unable to convince Rhona.

She later apologises to Marlon, but he can't bring himself to watch the video from the Dingles, which acts as a reminder of everything he's lost.

Meanwhile, Mary fears that Rhona is putting too much pressure on herself as a lonely Marlon regrets his decision to ban visitors...

Elsewhere, Cathy is crushed when Samson cruelly declares that he has no interest in her after she lies that she's in a relationship with him.

Also, Nate is left utterly gutted when he watches old videos of his daughter, devastated that he's missing out on time with Frankie...

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV, with additional episodes at 8pm on Thursdays
